Hot Weather

At the risk of getting called miserable, am I the only one who dislikes the heat?

In the U.K. now amazingly we don't have rain but 30 degrees C and people almost rejoice but it's frowned upon to dislike it.

I'm sure for some of you guys and girls all over the world this is only mildly warm but man it's draining to do anything!

I guess we are not really equipped with AC etc.

Anyone else struggle? Or am I an anomaly? :)

I hate it too. I came from Houston so its not like I'm not use to heat.

Here, its the lack of widespread availability of AC and if they have it, its not central AC but a window unit that gets me. London public transportation especially the tube is miserable with hot, sweaty, and smelly people for the one month a year its this hot.

30 degrees isn't hot. 50 degrees is hot. 30 is only slightly warmer than "room temperature".

Find a pool and a cold drink, put your feet up, and relax.

The tube is hell in any heat I agree completely.

That's mid 80's in the US. Good beach and outdoor play weather. Generally, people here start getting uncomfortable in the 90's (depending on humidity).

I recall reading some time ago that the train rails in the UK start to warp at about 35 degrees. Maybe you all are just built for cold whether.

True, we never get to acclimatise, we had a week of downpours last week and 13-14 degrees!

90 Fahrenheit is call an ambulance weather here :)

30C here as well, I like it when I'm outside, but the lack of AC makes it uncomfortable inside. Especially in the bedroom.

try turning off all AC in the mid 80's. Then ride on stuffy buses and humid swamps of an underground all day and report back.

In houston at least, all the AC's are on full blast well before it hits 80. So its "hotter" but people do not experience heat generally in the southern US the way other places do in this day and age.

Its not the heat, its the inability to cool down that makes it bad. My house is 27C inside right now and its only 11am. 100-150 year old houses are not really able to be retrofitted with central air. Victorian houses are the most common ones here. Beautiful homes, but not as up to date.

Thats 86 for us...That would be a cool summer day in Texas....or back home in Phoenix where it gets 48 to 49C every summer....We have good A.C. in house/car plus swimming pools to keep cool. I wear shorts and golf shirts year round.

This exactly, the house has all day to heat up and bedrooms are 30C or more when you go to sleep :(

You USA folks are much better equipped to keep cool. The nearest pool we have is at an indoor leisure centre!

The number of arguments between people in the U.K. also goes up with the thermometer :)

Ugggghhhhh, couldn't imagine that. Can't sleep unless the room is crisp - it's as much about removing humidity as it is the actual temp. I would summer in Finland...

I love hot weather, but also have A/C in my house and a pool in my back yard. I didn't have either of those in Germany, and the really hot weather was awful. Sleeping at night was miserable. I've never owned so many fans in my life.

27° is the sweet spot for me 26° is jeans and jumper weather.

33-35° is pool weather.

30° is afternoon beer session temperature, and I feel one coming on today

No AC at the deer camp, just ceiling fans, and mid 80's isn't unbearable.

When I lived in the middle east summer days were in the 130's. My watch would feel warm to the touch.
