As a guy who's been homeless in the past I am doing homework to find out a decent way of life without tapping into my money to much.
I've lived in shelters and in my car so something like this to me would be "Trump Trailer",seriously. I'm doing homework (googling) cheap but nice places to hook up on a year to yr basis. My vehicle with a towing pkg added will pull this easily. Any and all thoughts are appreciated,thx CF1.

Something to consider would be a clean used one. RV's and Camping trailers are know to not hold much value.

Is it a 4 season and do you need it to be? With used, make sure the water systems work and haven't burst.

^^ Thx guys, I can afford to go new even some models twice this much. This one is a '17 for 11,400.00 before dealing. Listen folks, I do not need much because of where I've been. Thx for reading and your comments.

I think it's a great idea if done right.
Fact is that if not for my family I wouldn't need a house and could be quite content sleeping in a trailer parked inside a big garage complete with lift and space for the hot rods and motorcycles and room for the dogs to run around a bit.
Yeah I've given it some thought. LOL
Seasonal campsites in New England run $2-4K per year with water and electric, maybe more or less where you are.
Another option would be a full size mobile home. They can be found under 10K and the pad in the park may be another $5K per year.
More space but harder to pick your neighbors.

Thank you Bill. Don't wanna go the mobile home route I just want what I need and new. 2-4K a yr would be doable.

Check out a Facebook page called "rv pricing and values" and they can get you a pricing report to make sure you pay a fair price.

I think it is a great idea. My wife and I have driven by a big 5th wheel that has been for sale forever. I know the owner, he would take peanuts for it. My lease on my truck is about up. I told her, a $60k diesel 3/4 ton and $30k for a trailer and we are set for the open road. Find a nice place off of the PCH to hook up and call it retired.

I think it's a fine idea. My dream when I retire is to sell the house and buy a nice RV (or truck/5th wheel). I plan on making a tour of the US and stopping in every state, moving on to the next whenever we are ready.

If I were going the route of minimalistic, I would skip the trailer and just become a long haul trucker. Same life, but at least you get benefits and pay.
