Maybe not for me...

I took out my 15300 out of the bank today, I am going to Zurich tomorrow and was planning on leaving it to my AD to make the service, it's unworn but sitting in safes since 2009, made the oils dry up and it needs a service.

But I have been looking at it and feeling it for one hour now, and can't explain why but I am a little underwhelmed, I thought it was perfect as my 3 PP are ultra thin, and my AP diver extra thick, to have something a little thicker, I don't know why but I am not impatient to be able to wear it, to be honest it's not that I don't like it, but can't say it does something to me.

When I saw the Jumbo I really found it awesome, while the 15400 didn't touch me in the slightest.

I think I won't do the service, will leave it untouched in the safe, and probably sell it to finance a piece later on that I really want, for now there is nothing on my radar, well there are watches I love, but way to expensive for'me at the moment.

I need to see the Jumbo again, if I really love it and want to complete my Genta collection with a RO, then I light sell it, add cash and get the 15202. Maybe I like my Genta style watches to be ultra thin, the way they were designed to be, when I am playing with my 5711/12 or 5167R, I really feel something, with the 15300 not really tbh.

Anyone else had the same effect and wound up flipping your 15300/400 either for the 15202 or another watch because the one you had didn't do anything for you?

At the same time I love the watches I have in rotation, so putting one in the rotation that doesn't touch me is stupid, I will not wear it.

So even if I will not sell it soon, we can count that I am down to 4 watches instead of 5, but will go back to 5 with the Vouti, now that one I am really impatient to get...

I HAD to have the silver 400... For me, it wore too small/thin. Could be cuz it was paired up w a 44 ROO. Not sure. It didn't last long, and I swapped it out for a blue dialed BP FF, which I loved. That too served its purpose, and now it's gone. I have my Panda 42 on bracelet, which I love, till it serves it's purpose. Then, it'll be gone too, lol.

It's all part of this game we play, Arnaud. If you visit the Jumbo again and love it, I'm sure you'll do well on the blue 300 sale and can pick up the Jumbo :-)

Everyone has different taste and preference. I owned the 5711 blue and 15202 and both did not impress me as much as 15300 blue. Despite a 6.5 inch wrist, the 15300 thickness, 39mm symmetry and having the second hand was the combination I prefer.

Different strokes for different folks and all good.

Thanks Mike, I really thought it would be a great watch to have with all my other Genta or Genta inspired designs, since all my watches fit the description, the furthest from Genta is the Aquanaut, but it is the same bezel as the 5711, so Genta inspired. I thought since I love my ROO and PP's, having a RO would be normal, but somehow it just doesn't do it for me, strange as when I see pics I find it awesome, but holding it and wearing it in real not at all...

Thanks Fred, of course different strokes and all, but like I just said I love Genta designs, and really thought that this was THE RO for me, maybe I just find thick Gentas not to my liking, was really digging the unworn new factor of a watch long out of production, but it clearly doesn't do anything to me, my other AP is the ceramic diver and I find it awesome, such a cool badass watch, maybe the Jumbo will so it for me next time I see it, when I did once I found it really cool, we'll see next time I do, and if it leaves me cold then that means RO's are just not for me, that only PP Gentas and ROO's are for me...

With those Pateks I think the Jumbo will streamline better with them.

I have had some watches that I realize i have not worn in some time and perhaps should flip. Then I wear or sometime a little later realize how much i missed in the rotation. Glad i did not sell. However I did sell a couple and at least one i have considered buying again. Sorry i sold it. So really be sure before parting ways.. :)

Hi Arnaud,
You seem to be bored with your 15300. In my opinion you should sell it as you have some other fantastic watches.

if it was me i would go 15202 vs 15300 every time. Especially considering your personal collection i would think a 15202 would fit in better as well

Looks wise i prefer the 15202 to my 15400 in general. For me though, I'm still not sure on the size on me, as i do prefer slightly larger watches which is why i went 15400 instead of 15202. I have thought on adding a 15202 many times but i don't think i could flip my 15400 and i would probably have both.

I had the same thing. I also bought one with a blue dial and then I put it next to my 5712...
the blue color of the 15300 was flat and dull loooking compared and I knew right away that I wouldn't be wearing it a lot.
It also wasn't that comfortable on the wrist as the 5712.
Sold it within a month.

Arnaud, don’t waste your money or time on acquiring the 15202 – I will all but guarantee that you find it’s no different to your feelings on the 15300, once any honeymoon period has ended.
Feel free to prove me wrong, but I reserve the right to say “I did tell you!” – you’re a RO admirer, but not a wearer.

Yes buddy, the 15202 is a better fit, but seeing the lack of effect the 15400 and 15300 have on me, not sure I wiill tempt the Jumbo.

I understand, but playing with it for 2 hours, realized the watch did ZERO to me...

Not even bored, from the first moment I played and wore it, no effect at all...

Well it would go better, but I liked the fact that the 15300 is a little thicker, but no love, not even a little, so forgetting the idea of a RO in the collection

Well I didn't even have a PP next to it, they were all in Odessa, had only the AP, and yes the comfort sucks compared to my 5711/12, no comparison, even my CE diver is way more comfy than the 15300...

Well for now I will keep it and sell when I have envy for something, and a grey dealer friend already offered me 15k euros for it.

Don't worry my friend, I won't try any RO after this, I love my diver, and thought I loved the 202, but saw it 5 minutes, so won't risk getting any, I am done with RO's. I mean there wasn't even 5 minutes honeymoon with this one, though I love it on pixs, in real zero feeling...

Well the same is happening to me with the Jumbo... i liked it very much when I tried it at AP boutique and was always impressed by owners' pictures... i bought one since then the watch stays in its box... i have an issue with the winding crown, small and uncomfortable for winding. Then the dial is not as beautiful as in the various pictures I am seeing here or on some other forums...
I have still not removed the stickers as I am not sure to keep it....

The biggest downside to the 15202 in my opinion is the winding crown, and its sort of a pain to adjust the date. This aside, I really think it wears super comfy, slides easily under the shirt cuff and looks stunning. The bracelet is out of this world.

How do you mean dial is not as beautiful? Do you mean it's darker and not as vibrant a blue colour?

Yeah well no interest in trying the 202, didn't like the 400 and same for 300, even though I really thought I would love it'and it would'be a good addition to my Genta collection, so no more RO's for me, buying one was enough

Don't know, I also thought the 300 is stunning, but wearing it I really didn't like it

The 15202 is essentially like a 5711 but cheaper. It's not supposed to wow you. It's very practical, has good heritage, ultra thin, and in the right light the dial sparkles.

But 90% of the time the dial is a very dark boring blue. But that's the point. It's supposed to be basic.

Get a ROO to be loud or a 5711/R. If you want a RO that is loud, try the 15407. People who buy the 15202 need to understand the point of it.

It's not a problem of color for me, it was looks, design, comfort and overall feel, and was sure I would love it...
Very wrong, not for me, but thought it would be, but isn't
