Icon10 Cue the singing chorus of angels... my first AP! (15300)

Guys, I'm over the moon right now! The Royal Oak has been a near obsession of mine for over a decade now (I'm 35). With all the "incoming" threads around here it seems like some of you buy APs like I buy chewing gum but for me this is a huge deal. It marks a significant year in my life when I was promoted to VP and my company was acquired.

I went back and forth on whether to get a new 15400 or 15450 or to get a pre-owned 15300. In the end, the 15300 had the winning combo of a) perfect dimensions for my wrist, and b) proportions that are true to the original RO Jumbo. A forum member over on WUS had a truly mint black-dial 15300 w/ box and papers for sale and I ended up buying it a few days ago.

Besides a couple hard-to-see hairlines on the bracelet near the clasp, this thing is hard to tell from new. It's a high number H-series and the warranty book is stamped May 2013, making it one of the last 15300s ever made. So, so excited to have found this watch!

My only "problem" is that I sold both my Sub and Speedie to get the AP, so I don't have anything to wear to the beach But that's a good problem to have, right?

I'm on a one-watch-per-brand kind of guy, so this will be my only AP. Here's the obligatory wrist shot:

No problems with taking the 15300 to the beach. I have taken my 15400 swimming, it's a sport watch!

Stunning watch and worth it. I would wear that at the beach, but might not go for a swim. Just stroll around the beach letting the sun reflect off that bezel. You will definitely catch the eyes of your preferred gender.

I have a smaller 6.5 to 6.75 inch wrist and came to the same conclusion. Great choice my friend and a stunner for sure!

looks great on u. i think based on ur wrist size the 15450 would've looked perfect... regardless, the 300 is a stunner.
and given the year you've had, this acquisition seems like a great cherry on top. congrats on all fronts!

Great story and congrats...I told myself I was going to be a "one watch guy" as well after I got my AP but two watches later and I am already looking to add another.

Congratulations! Like you, I really want a blue dial 15300 as it fits perfectly on my wrist. Price wise, they have gone up tremendously over the last 2-3 years and frankly, have moved further away from reach for me. Someday, someday...

I've always preferred the Offshore models and never really taken much interest in the RO references however this post is a game changer for me. The 15300 just seems to pop for me, definitely the one I would go for. Thank you very much for sharing!
