bit by the golden bug - what's next?

maybe it'll pass, but i've recently been recently coveting two different models in gold: RO 15450 YG, full bracelet in blue dial; daytona YG, full bracelet in either white or black dial.

been trying to expand into other manufacturers, but these two keep calling on me. until i'm able to land on a PP5711/12/26, these two will have to tide me over.

the drawer currently has the RO Jumbo blue dial, Explorer 1, and DD36 yellow gold full bracelet in silver dial.

already have two rolexes...and even though the daytona is iconic, hesitant to add a 3rd.
whilst the YG 15450 in blue dial is drop-dead gorgeous...the design is similar to the jumbo, possibly redundant.

1st world problems, would love to hear opinions/thoughts.

any RO in either YG or RG wins vs a daytona every time IMO

Not redundant to the jumbo at all since the gold will give it an entirely different look. I would gladly have both with no issues.

the daytona is a very nice piece that one is probably one of the best configurations on a bracelet they offer... but even in the two pics its pretty clear the RO is on an entirely different level

I get why you put on the rubber but that looks super nice on the bracelet. Its the best green dial gold rolex there is IMO.

Yes, i have my reasons why it is on rubber right now. Main part is that i want to wear full YG on special occasions.

aah, it's the green dial...gotcha. still, the full YG looks amazing.

makes the decision difficult, also cuz i'm trying to stay away from too many complications. went down the chrono route before...really, i hardly ever used the chrono other than to keep the seconds hand running. which is is another reason to go the 15450 route.

but dammit if that daytona YG doesn't look great!

Get a 15202OR and call it a day...Best overall gold watch IMHO. Nothing like AP rose gold!

thats the only option where i would give up a ss 15202 as i wouldn't have both probably. Then the daytona could be a possibility too... how bad is the gold bug?

I tried on a Rose Gold Daytona yesterday at my local AD. I didn't like and I am going for Yellow Gold too. Sucker for all things gold :|

Great photos and certainly the rubber makes it versatile and an everyday piece

With the OP's collection, tbh I think it is redundant to add another RO. I'd consider a dual time or something like a Patek 5960 with its calendar as well as chrono functions. Plus it goes well with a bracelet or strap

I'd certainly take the AP RG over the Daytona but if you want to keep the Jumbo then how about the 5711/1r?

This probably won't help, as I do think the RO would be slightly redundant (yes, I know completely different look in YG vs SS, but everything else so similar) and I much prefer the YG Daytona with green dial vs black.

Is there anything else out there you're interested in? Maybe something slightly dressy? Or you definitely want a sports watch? What about the Yachtmaster in RG with the black bezel and rubber strap? I love those!

ur comments actually resonate well.
per my prior comment, the daytona does go against my tastes moving away from sports watches and multi-complications.

and i do agree, the 15450 YG would be an overlap with the jumbo.

i guess the gold bug that's bit me just adores the way both look even though they logically don't 'fit' into the current direction of my collection.

yachmaster is not my thing.

maybe something else will soon catch my eye and divert my attention. still keeping eye open for 5711/12/26 in SS.

but the yellow gold... it's...so... hypnotic...

Is this and the RG AP 15450 that far apart?

Isn't it like mid 30s for the ap and 50k for the patek?
