Tudor Black Bay Chrono riveted bracelet?

So now that the first models are hitting AD's, I have to ask - what is the deal with the riveted bracelet? I see very little written about it. Are the rivets just for looks or is that how the links are actually joined? Are these solid links? Any insights appreciated. Seems a little contrived to me, but like the overall watch and with the new movement, represents a tremendous value I think. Thanks!

They're just for looks.
