YG 116618LN Submariner Question?
Just wondered why the full YG (not TT) black face Submariner Date 116618LN doesn't seem to get as much love around these parts as its blue faced brother the 116618LB ?
I might be wrong, but as a relatively new TRF member (April '17) I haven't really seen many pics posted recently on threads such as *WUWRN* etc. compared to seemingly hundreds of its 'Bluesy' stable mate. I cant quite put my finger on it, but there's just something about the stark contrast between the plain black dial, the yellow gold Rolex Rolex Rolex rehaut, the hour marker surrounds, the hands and of course that gorgeous case & bracelet. Don't get me wrong, I also love the blue dial version - its probably on most peoples 'one day' list including mine if I'm 100% honest, but there seems to be a massive bias amongst PM Sub owners towards the blue v black. It would be interesting to hear from some 116618LN owners as to their reasons why they chose the black dial and what swayed them over the blue version? So come on 116618LN owners - don't be shy, give me some feedback and don't forget to post some pics of that gorgeous piece... Kind regards |

I don't own one myself but it's my favourite of the 3 gold models. By a long shot.

Beautiful piece, I'd take it over the so called bluesy any day.

I don't own either one but I would think it has to do with how many black faced sport models are out there. The blue adds, in my eye, more of a unique look and the sunburst dial is always changing.
Hats off to the lucky owners of either one. |

I had a black 16618 but wished I got the blue instead. I am now looking for a blue 116618 I prefer it as the dial pop's more. Both are stunning and I just walked past an AD with a black dial YG sub, it looked great but a little flat in comparison.
Buy what makes you happy not anyone else. Our opinions don't count!

I have both the yg sub with black face and the TT with black face. While I like the sunburst blue, to me it is just alot flashier then I am comfortable with. Especially for the all gold sub. And I wear these for me not to grab everyone's attention.

Initially I was interested in the black YG and did a few polls on this at the time, including the one below which had the YG GMTc being far more the choice of the forum in YG. Together with this, I was then alerted by Felix, the only guy here who had a blue YG at the time - can you imagine!! - to check one out and after I got messed around by Watchfinder who had a Black YG waiting for me, I decided to pop to an AD and check out the blue in the flesh. When I did the incredible dial completely swayed me to the blue and I bought it on the spot. I added the YG GMTc later and think this was the ideal YG combo for me and most here, which explains the lack of black YG Subs.

I have owned several 116618 LB's and think it is a great watch. With that said, I have always liked black face watches and the 116618LN is always at the top of my list when I go to flip one of my PM watches but I never buy the 116618LN. Why, don't know. The blue sunburst 116618LB is so stunning to me I guess. The 116618LN is on the list.

I agree. Although so far, no one has really said a whole lot. I feel good when wearing it though and that's the fun of owning it. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Afraid I'm not much help as I'm in the blue camp...but, any combination of TT or 18k gold and a sub is spectacular (IMO of course).
The blue captured my heart years ago and has never let go. |

I think that when some people want that extra pop from yellow cold, they go all out with that contrast of blue. Some might also already have a black SS, so the black YG might not be enough of a difference to some. The blue is my grail!

Simple. I like the color blue much more than black. And the sunburst effect in bright light contrasting against the yellow gold is purely magic.

Would love to post some photos of my LN that I traded in for 116619LB. Loved the yellow gold but the white gold Smurf is even more amazing IMHO. PS: once upon a time I could post a pic from my iPhone photo album with no problems. Now I get an error message that the photo needs to be re sized. Anyone have any hints on how to easily upload my photos via iPhone once again?

I have the black face and I adore this watch. The reason I chose the black is I already had a blue faced watch in the 116619. But I still think I would chosen the black. Personal preference, that's all...with all the blue faces being posted I will always admire that one too. Here are a couple of pics of my black face.

TRF recently lowered the file size for uploading pictures. My guess is that you have your camera set to the highest resolution - 10million pixels or something silly like that. Try lowering the resolution by setting it to jpeg or similar. It really doesn't need to be very high resolution for web viewing on a phone or laptop. If you use the Taptalk app it seems to automatically resize them for you. Good luck |

YG 116618LN Submariner Question?
I've never been a fan of YG watches. And I have absolutely no love for the Bluesy. The YG Sub is the exception for me. I'm a SS watch guy but I think the YG Sub is stunning.

I love it, although I'd wear it on black leather (or maybe rubber). A little bit too much gold for me on the bracelet, but the watch head on a black strap is gorgeous.

I remember how the pictures of my LB started it all. When I bought mine I never thought that I´d ever buy a YG watch but it was love at first sight when I tried it on just for fun at my AD. I´ve bought it to celebrate a special event in my life so I love the watch even more. |

Believe me, I would never turn down the chance to own the all gold ceramic black dial as it is a Dream piece for sure, BUT I wish it had the gold lettering on the dial like the previous 5 digit model had. I scratch my head why Rolex continued the gold lettering on blue dial 6 digit models but not on the black dial versions.

The black gold sub should be no date in my opinion.

I ended up buying the 116718LN first so already had the YG/blk combo covered. So it made sense to go with the LB.

I've had both multiple times and still have a black face in my collection. I find it to be more universal for me! Honestly the all gold sub is just an all around amazing watch in any color. I plan to buy back a WG blue dial very very soon.
