thoughts on matte black DJ
I've been looking for a matte black DJ for a while now and recently came across this one. I'm by no means a vintage expert, and the same goes for Datejusts in general. Any thoughts regarding originality, condition, level of polishing, bracelet match, etc?

For that price I'd try to look for a GILT DJ.

Way too much . I got mine two years ago, mint condition, same year, box and papers, for under 3 grand.

I looked up gilt + black dial (which is a stellar idea) but I'm somewhat confused. Are there gold colored versions, or are all white to white gold? I only seem to find silver/white.

Yes, the indices were yellow gold, white gold, and I've seen the rose gold, depending on the model (1600, 1061, 1603) You have to be real careful in buying these gilt DJ: 1. Up to 65-66 year only 2. Bring a jeweler loupe magnifier; the gilt print is not on top op the black paint, but rather below. |

Those sellers always list their watches high and then say they accept offers. They list on this web page too. Its a sales tactic im assuming. It only makes me skip over their ads to be honest because its a hassle to barter back and forth only to get down to the market value.
