Mystery boat . . . anyone have a clue?

A few years ago I was in Apalachicola and watched this boat go by. Was really impressed with how sleek it looked and the nice array of electronics on top.

Later, looking at the picture I realized it did not have a registration number on the bow.

Hmmm . . .

I've heard of black helicopters but . . . black boats?

Anyone with insight as to what this is?

From the design characteristics, it looks like an Azimut.

Looks like something Wayne Industries might have developed.

But . . . why no registration number?

Not marine savvy so does it not require one?

You don't need registration numbers on a coast guard registered boat...I'm not exactly if that's the correct terminology. My boss has owned several boats without registration numbers.

Very similar styling but I don't think this is an Azimut.

It's a Sunseeker Predator 62. Probably a 2008-2009 model year. Run about $825k used.

I googled it you're right. Impressive little get-around!

Spot on. I use one, much newer of course, to get into small ports where my 155 won't fit.

I had the pleasure of spending a day on a sunseeker 86 last month and was impressed by how nice it was

Checked my phone and seems I did get a couple pics

I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing.

Though she would have to have the life insurance proceeds to afford one.

Regarding no numbers/registration on the bows if it's a US boat it's most likely "documented". Vessels typically above 26 ft can opt for documentation. I've done it with prior boats as it's much prettier without numbers lettering and registration stickers on the bows.

That is correct.

A documented vessel has no reg. #'s on the bow but requiers the vessel name and home port affixed to transom.

BTW, how hard can it be to guess what it is when the name and model of the boat is clearly displayed on each side aft?

This makes sense now. I've noticed that there are never any registration numbers on all the boats in Miami.

And 99% of them are from Delaware.

If you're talking about "The silver arrow of the seas" the only likeness about them is that they both float.
