Dan Henry Watches
Anyone else curious about, or already collecting, these LE pieces?
I started out being quite interested in the Silver 1939, but after two hours on Youtube, I'm thinking about picking up one of each model. (They look much better on video than in photos). Even then it would be a little over $1k total for five watches. Seems like great value for the quality/price, as long as you're ok with Miyota quartz and Seiko auto movements. If you don't know already, Dan Henry is the guy behind the excellent www.timeline.watch And his watches are found here: www.danhenrywatches.com The "Quotes" section in the dropdown Reviews menu are quite interesting. |

The 1939 looks nice, but I can't help but think they've drawn their inspiration (or other less favorable terms) from the Baume et Mercier Capeland, which is a watch I've always admired.

I've been looking the website and I'm impressed with what I saw. I'm in love with the 1968 and the 40mm diver. They look very well finished (a lot of details) and for such price is unbelievable!!
Seriously thinking in pre-order the 40mm diver. Seiko movements are great BTW!! Thanks Adam. "If you're not having fun you're doing something wrong". Groucho Marx. |

Thanks for posting Adam
I hadn't heard of them before now, but I like the vintage feel they give off |

The roots go much deeper than that, right back to late-1930s co-branded Omega/Tissot chronos. The silver one is almost an exact copy.

I still think the Capeland is the best looking, but you certainly can't beat the price of the David Henry. |

Yeah, this German site compares both dial versions to Tissot/Omega. I'm still deciding which to go for, but it'll probably be the white, for legibility and relative simplicity. |

They look very nice indeed.
But I'm wondering why one would go faux-vintage over authentic vintage? Say, something like a Pierce Flight Calendar over the Dan Henry 1939? While there is a price difference it's not huge... Sent from my cracked, broken hand wound phone. IG @morning_tundra |

Their production runs are 500, when that production is done then they make more. It isn't truly an LE.
Good looking watches at a good price point. |

The new 40mm Diver has a production run of 500, but all other models, from what I can see, are produced in the same number as their model name, i.e. 1,939 for the 1939, etc. That's what is shown on the caseback, anyway.

Sent a mail yesterday to know more details.
Till now, no response. The only thing I don't like is the rubber strap. Never wear rubber. Mesh bracelet?? "If you're not having fun you're doing something wrong". Groucho Marx. |

I just ordered one. I read too many good reviews and watched too many positive vids on Youtube from the last year, and very few owners seem to be selling on ebay/watchrecon/chrono24, so I guess that means mostly satisfied customers. I will post my thoughts after it arrives.

I knew about the chrono's but lost interest when I found out they were using quartz movements.
The 40mm diver however.... ordered! Thanks for pointing these out again |

Are you guys all going 40mm for the 1970 diver? Tropic strap looks good to me, like the one I bought for my Sub recently.

I think the 1968 would look the business on steel mesh.
