Wouldn't it be awkward if they Roofied each other, and both woke up at the same time.

They quoted $80k on the 3 watches. For arguments sake, let's say a Platinum Daytona was yanked... What the F do these lowlifes do with them? Prob hawked it for like $3k.

Some serious scumbags out there.

And then it would show up here under the WatchOut!! section with everyone saying "If it's too good to be true... it's probably a fake"

It's a re-occurring storyline. (1) A middle-aged man wearing a Rolex hooks up with a predatory woman/stranger in a bar. (2) They go back to his hotel room and he wakes up to find his Rolex gone.

Moral of the story: An unsuspecting fool and his Rolex are soon parted.

It is quite likely they know watches relatively well - at least well enough to identify high value Rolexes over lower value Rolexes. I don't think it's coincidence each Rolex they took averaged $27K. It could be sheer luck, but it is more likely the result of at least a better-than-rudimentary understanding of watches.

I know in Europe the watch thieves are surprisingly sophisticated, able to identify high vs low value Rolexes, and having a ready market for stolen watches. It may be the same for these two ladies.

I completely agree - they aren't after Subs like mine, although I'm sure they'd take it. They have an idea what they're looking for... Honestly, wouldn't be surprised if they casually brought it up to their mark; "That's a nice watch, what is it?" while they're chatting away & they know the name their looking for.

My point was more about the value of the watch at this point and how much it diminishes. Obviously exaggerating on $3k for a platinum Daytona, but the value drops heavily. Show me the individual that doesn't want to know the history of a $50k watch before purchasing & I'll point you to a trust fund baby, lottery winner, or someone with zero regard to money.

It's def sophisticated. These girls know what they want, they've got some shady person they sell it to, who prob has a shady client he flips it to. I'd bet the girl gets like 20% of the price of the watch & then the jeweler sells it to the end scumbag for 50% of retail. The end user is probably aware he can't risk having a top of the line watch pop up on anyone's radar.

This happens rather often.

My conclusion last time was this. The only problem is if the two men aren't rich. Because if they are...they scored free drugs and some entertainment. Well done.

Should have left them with some I love NY t shirts as a souvenir.

Hard to feel sympathy for guys this gullible IMO....I think from going out in younger ages you'd have some common sense about mingling/being in the scene....guess not.

That said, nothing lower than thieves. Hope these women get apprehended quickly...this isn't some grand ingenious plot so I'm sure sooner or later they'd be caught.

Happened to my buddy in Vegas. Not a watch guy so no worries there, yet she took his camera, computer, wallet, etc.

I wonder if these women are forum members? Friends of Charlie Sheen? Well at least now we know some good bars to go to.
