Another aspect of whether or not your kid is too young for a Rolex. Yes, they are plenty of teenaged kids "mature" enough to appreciate and cherish the timepiece, but gullibility is a different issue.

I was a thirteen year old hanging out in the East Village in the hippie era. My parents moved me to a better area for a bunch of reasons some of which had to do with my well being. Not any Rolexes that I remember but a lot of spoiled rich brats growing up in that area. I'm sure it's only gotten worse. Chances are this is an example of easy come, easy go. There is a 1 liquor license for every 2 acres of Manhattan Island. When I was marauding there, if you were tall enough to see over the bar and had cash, that was ID enough
