Is hand length a consistent tell tale sign of a fake?
Noticed on my Sea-Dweller that the minute hand extends to the beginning of the minute marker, the second hand extends to the edge of the marker.
On models with minute markers is this ratio consistent? Noticed on a few confirmed fakes the hands don't typically extend far enough. |

I thought it strange too, as the first time doesn't show up in my post history nor in my view of this forum. So I posted again...But thanks for pointing that out, although I still only see the one thread.

The hands are a tell on some fakes, but you won't get much of a discussion here as it is against the forum rules.
You can post a specific watch for some advice. Otherwise look at photos of genuine watches. Hundreds of them. After a while you'll start seeing the tells on fake ones. We also don't discuss the tells here as we aren't in the business of educating the fakers about what they aren't doing correctly, so learning takes time. |

Totally makes sense, thanks for clarifying! I'm completely amazed at the amount of grossly obvious fake items on ebay, CL and Facebook marketplaces. For all the obvious junk, the sheer number of 'better' fakes that must slip through is mind boggling.

Don't disagree at all, and you guys do great work on here, just the sheer numbers to me are staggering. I have had many clients in the luxury retail space, interesting conversations with them around policing their brand, I try to flag items I see locally (FB, CL), but my knowledge is limited. Not comfortable flagging items I'm not 100% sure about but will do my part where I can.
