Baselworld vs WatchTime Conference Attendance

I recently saw a post about attendance being down at Baselworld; however, WatchTime recently had a record level of attendance at their conference?

Different ball games. The watch industry is hurting. Bad. And it shows on sales. Basel is for industry related visitors, while WT is public oriented. Flying to NY even cross country (remember, WT does regional shows, NY is one of them) is way cheaper than flying to Basel, and the exhibitors are there for the public, not for industry.

The number of companies cutting off Basel expenses and the number of dealers closing its doors is something making big news.

...my 2 cents
