Watch Collection organization (storage ideas)

So as my collection grows year after year I am starting to consider an upgrade to my watch storage methods.

I currently have a cheap 10 watch faux leather watch case that fits well into a fire and waterproof safe I have but unless I am going away I will often leave the case out. I have out grown this case now and need more space, I also don't like that it is solid top with no glass or anything to allow viewing the watches while it sits atop my dresser.

What I am thinking is of splitting into two storage methods one that will stay out and preferably be a nicer to look at, display style watch box and the other being something that will hold all of the collection and stay in the safe. This would allow me to keep half a dozen watches out in a nice display case which could be alternated and when going away put whatever I don't bring with into the case in the safe.

Was wondering how others with larger collections manage storage. My budget for a case would be ~$200-$300 so not looking for Louis Vuitton and at this time. I don't feel the need to start utilizing a safety deposit box at a bank as my collection is more based on stuff I can wear frequently rather than safe queens that I hope will appreciate in the future.

Thanks Abdullah. I have taken a liking to these old Gerstner chests. This is the other one I recently picked up. Covered in leatherette and issued to an Air Force machinist our mechanic atChanute in Rantoul, IL. From the early mid 40’s based on the hardware and the card that is thumbtacked to the lid.

Cool chest. They don't make them like that anymore.
