Professional Rolex for small wrist
I've been contemplating getting my first Rolex, but my wrist size makes getting a Professional model difficult (I'm not interested in dress models at the moment). Dial size is not so important--it's lug to lug width that makes my search an arduous one. For example, the Sub C and the new 39mm Explorer I are both just a bit too long (lug-wise) for me, as one lug invariably hangs just a bit beyond the edge of my wrist.
So far I've found the SD 4000 (116600) and the 36mm Explorer I as viable options. Are there any other sports Rolex that would have a shorter lug height than what I have already tried? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Both are reasonably priced too. Go for the explorer 1. On 6.25” wrists, it’s perfect. |

the 36mm Explorer is nice. I also like the new OP models. They should fit you quite nice.

The Exp I would be my pick out of the choices you presented. Have you ever considered the 36mm OP? I guess it would be considered a professional model... Plus, a lot of great history! Just a thought.

not sure if the Oyster Perpetual is "professional" or not but it's a fine choice in 36mm or -- perhaps better -- 34mm
if you want to go outside of Rolex, the Tudor Black Bay 36 is nice. So too is the Rado "Captain Cook" dive watch |

I have both the 36mm Explorer and a 34mm Air King and they're both very nice and suit small wrists well. The only drawback with the Air King is the legibility : it really is poor sometimes. For this reason I'd go for an Explorer.

Not many options when going small and sporty--I got the 36mm Explorer I. Comfortable and smaller, but the dial and hands really give it a sufficiently masculine look IMO

My wrists unfortunately are as small as they come, but most of the 40 mm are still good. Esp the older 5 digit models like 14060, 16710...

OP, why care if only one lug is hanging a bit beyond your wrist ?
Some fashion police stating it should not ? I don't think it matters and just go with the model you like and not limit yourself to only 34/ 36 models. After a day of wearing almost any watch feels comfortable.

Try either the 14060 or 16710 (5-Digit reference). The narrower case may be better suited for your wrist size. Good luck.

If size is a concern then by all means go Explorer 36. It is a cool watch I would no doubt wear one instead of the Explorer 39 if I had a small wrist.

It was in excellent condition when I received it. I don't think it has ever been polished. I have put some dings and scratches on it since this photo was taken. Bezel and clasp show the most wear so far.

I realize it's not a full Rolex, but what about the Black Bay 36 on a bracelet? Gorgeous, killer value, great build quality, and more. In fact, for weeks I've been mulling over selling my 39 Explorer and getting one...

I would recommend 5 Digit sub, got and SD or get the Explorer 1, 36 is a good option but the sweet spot IMO is 39mm..

34mm/36mm OP or 36mm Explorer I.
BTW, no Rolex watches are really dress watches, so a 36mm DateJust is versatile, too. |

Great suggestions, everyone. Thank you.
The lug overhang bothers me personally--I don't care much about the fashion police. Were there ever any Daytonas with a smaller case size than 40mm? |

Have you considered, a Tudor 75090/75190? It's just like their regular Sub, but sized down to 36mm (37mm bezel.) Here's one for sale (I can't vouch for seller.) https://www.watchrecon.com/?query=tudor+75190 Heck, if you're looking at Tudor at all, you could also look at my favorite watch, the 76200: |

The Turnograph would also be a great 36 option with several metals and bracelets to choose from
