Funny thing is I've had my cue for almost 25 years now. I wouldn't swap it for the World, after all these years it's like an extension of my arm. To me it's priceless but would anyone pay big bucks for it? I doubt it.

I'm with you there Adrian......mine is 21 years old and counting. I don't play nearly as much as I used to, but the guy 2 doors down has a very nice (proper size) snooker table and we have a game every once in a while.

I believe Craig was writing in the style of the Associated Press guide.

I am not saying AP is right, since the Canadian Press style guide has the same rule of dropping certain letters. It isnt proper English, but it was designed to save type space in the newspaper.

Well, not all of us Canadians are as lazy as that, Peter. I agree that if poeple are following a guide that tells them to drop the letters, they are simply incorrect. I don't care what the reasoning is, spell the damn words correctly!

I wholeheartedly agree. However, in my line of work, spelling things correctly means you are not following CP style, and my boss will point it out as a typo. We all nod and agree, but following the style guide is policy.

Nice to see some newspapers, like the Toronto Globe and Mail, shucking the style guide and spelling words correctly.

Why do you Brits and Canucks think you have a monoply on spelling? We don't speak with an accent; why should we spell with one?

Over here, C-O-L-O-R is the correct spelling. Why can't you accept that?
