Buying Vintage Rolex NYC
Hello All,
I'm looking to buy an Explorer, either 14270 114270 while I'm visiting NYC. Has anyone had any positive experiences with buying vintage Rolex in NY? I went and visited Central watch in Grand Central and am considering a watch I found there, either to buy or buy and trade. I will also be in SF and have written to Jacek whom I understand is an incredibly reputable guy. Thanks! Jonathan |

Andrew gets amazing watches, but it's hit or miss if he has any stock. Seems as if he sells everything immediately. Good luck! |

I found Central Watch to be incredibly overpriced. If you're going to be in SF, I'd go to Jacek.

I’m getting old if a 14270 or similar is considered vintage. Even if Andrew Shear is a great dealer he will not have what you are looking for. :)
Check stores selling used watches and I am sure you will find something nice. Look around Diamond district and be certain to negotiate the price. John Buckley at Tuscanyrose will probably have something. Best of luck! |

Tourneau in the city usually has a 14270 or 11427. That's where I got mine. They aren't a steal, but I felt good knowing the watches are checked for original parts and they're serviced.

Pass all the NYC shenanigans...either "cool" guys that the hobby media loves...that don't have any watches, well FOR YOU that is , or weird places with high prices and strange hours....Pass pass pass....
Go to Jacek in SF |

Thanks, all.
In the end I visited Jacek in SF and bought a beautiful 14270. Jacek is a great guy and the visit and buying process were very enjoyable. Highly recommend HQ Milton. |

Congrats to the OP on buying from Jacek. He's a great guy to deal with, and I say that as someone who's bought from and sold through him on multiple occasions.
