Tend to agree that’s the stand out for me also.
These are the other offerings I really like but again upper to super high price tier. Actually the Ce Royal Oak tourb would be an ideal single piece for me but even a collection consolation and a few limbs I’m sure to be a few quid short |

Now this is a standout piece, and with some true horological significance. I say well done AP overall, some great new releases mixed in with the endless rainbows.

Its a huge achievement. Im guessing its going to take some time, but no way they spent 5 years on that and then not continue to develop it into a viable commercial piece. |

They haven't mastered the rules yet.

Like the RD1, gets announced as a prototype first then the following year comes out as the commercial piece...I do not see why this would be any different.

They are not masters of their domain... They may have prematurely shot their wad with all of these coloured ROOs, such that they kind of have a mess on their hands at the moment.
(Seinfeld and Arrested Development fans should love this synergy...) |

A lot of rightful plaudits for this concept watch, but IMO AP still haven't addressed the main problem with its RO perpetuals, which is that the power reserve is too low. Only 40 hours, and usually less than that in the real world. Not good enough for a perpetual at this price.
However, I think they bumped up the power reserve when they moved from the RD#1 concept to the production model, so there is still hope.

That's a good point. In fact AP does supply its PCs with a dedicated watch-winder, so it's not all bad. But it's like they are admitting defeat or they don't think the PR is an important issue.

it does make the fact that that watch is so thin even more impressive though as it has a rotor and not even a micro rotor.

The leap year and am/pm indicator need to be redone. I'm not really liking the placement of those dials. Everything else is amazing.

Impressive piece, but the more I look at it, the less I like the layout of the subdials. For some reason I think moonphases look better at 6. The chin caused by the day/night indicator and leap year indicators on the month/day of the week is also not my preference.

I also prefer days/months written around the circumference rather than as sunrays.
