Atlantis Bahamas - Just missed the Rolex shipment Jan 25

Just flew into Nassau Bahamas this afternoon (January 27) and shot over to the Rolex store at Atlantis...to find one to I just missed their (quarterly?) shipment that arrived two days before.

Of the SS sport watches they received Thursday:

1 SD43 (sold $10,800 usd)
1 Hulk (sold $8,600 usd)
1 Sub date ( still available $8,100 usd)
1 No date Sub (sold)
1 explorer 2 (sold)

Sales lady said those SS watches all sold that same shipment day with the SD43 selling the next morning. I really wanted that SD43 and missed it by a day...

Other than that last remaining SS sub date, they had a milgauss and the new 40 mm Air King in SS. Their YG LB sub was $32K and ‘Rolex would not let them further discount the sports watches like in the old days’ though the $72K Platona in the window could get a 15% discount. They had about a dozen Daytonas but no SS of course. They did NOT get a SS Daytona in the Thursday shipment...I would have cried myself to sleep if I missed that by a few dozen hours!

New to this forum so excuse my potential ignorance, but that $8600 Hulk seems like a phenomenal deal, no?

....I missed one at my AD by 30 minutes -_-

Was that the AD at the Atlantis resort? Or did you try John Bull? I bought myself a Tudor Black Bay S&G earlier this month at John Bull. They has a few SubC's and DSSD and Daytona's when I was there.

The little mall in Atlantis right outside the casino is a fantastic place for checking out watches. Wife and I were there a few years ago for a work trip. I had a blast checking out all of the stores. I picked up a Breitling SuperOcean Heritage there with blackjack winnings.

If it strikes you, the waterslides and lazy river are a lot of fun. And a tip, you don't see anyone doing it, but they will let you bring a drink on the lazy river as long as it has a lid. Enjoy your stay!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

I will definitely go to John Bull in town. The Atlantis shop sales rep did say they also received a shipment Thursday but she didn’t know the contents.

Forgot to add last night, but there was a DSSD blue in their shipment that sold the same day as well. Didn’t get the Bahamas price on that though...

I am here now at Atlantis, they said they are expecting a shipment any day that was supposed to come in December...She said the shipment before they got three SS Subs.

Haha. I’m feeling better and better about getting a YG sub 20% off from a US AD this year.

Curious to hear if you catch the shipment.

I stayed at Baha Mar for New Years and it was a similar story - re Rolex not allowing discounting to a certain degree and that they hadn't received any shipments.

Very nice salespeople, who were happy to put up with me 'popping by' excessively during my stay.

I'll be back in March, and Rolex will be my first stop. Also hoping the Audemars Piguet boutique is open by then. Looking forward to checking it out.
