Mayors AD

Last month I decided to place a 20% deposit for a sub 116613LB from Mayors down in Miami due to the shortage of sport models. I've been trying to get my hands on this model and it seems like it sells very quickly. While I was in Orlando last weekend visiting some friends, I decided to stop by another Mayors AD which luckily had it on display. I tried it on and told him I wanted to buy it knowing that I could cancel my deposit I placed in Miami. With this is mind, I tried to see if I could score a good discount considering I would pay cash and unfortunately it did not work. The salesperson was set on MSRP + tax and did not give me the option to ship out of state to avoid paying the tax on the spot. They said that it's considered a "hot watch", in which no discount for any sport models. I ended up not purchasing the watch and now left waiting until my order arrives. Hopefully a better deal is given to me at the Mayors in Miami. I was wondering if this was usually the case with Mayors?

I think your experience is the norm today. I am a good Mayors customer (many purchases over almost 20 years) and have paid MSRP for the last two Rolex watches I've bought. They were a BLNR and a steel/gold bezel DateJust. They have no real reason to sell at a discount when they have MSRP customers lining up for the watches.

Mayors can transfer watches in from their other locations. Why not just have your Miami Mayors contact the Orlando store and have it brought in?
I doubt they will discount though.

There's no need since I will be returning to Miami soon. But that's definitely something to note for future purposes.

Remember that Orlando and Miami AD's , receive lots of visits from tourists willing to pay MSRP so they don't need to give discounts to sell their watches.

The discount you will receive on that reference from Mayors in Miami will be 0.0%.

If you pass on it, there will be be another customer who will walk right in and buy it at full price without hesitation.

That is why there will be no discounting @ that AD on that reference.

No need for ADs to give discounts on these now, and any that do are going to have issues with Rolex in future when they start downsizing ADs.

Typical Mayors and they do double the warranty to 10 years against defects. SS sport models at discount is challenging at many ADs, with Mayors being typical corperate.

I'm a Miami native myself, called every AD down there about a Hulk. The Mayors in Dadeland Mall apparently has a 2 year wait...

Therefore not the least bit surprised that they're so steadfast with the LB either.

Very few ADs are giving any discounts on sports models now!
Were you promised a discount from your Miami one? I would check because a bird in hand.......

Try Mayors I’m Jacksonville... That’s where I got my
TT Sub LB and a decent discount ... Albeit that was 2.5 yrs ago.
Nevertheless, doesn’t hurt to try ...

I was just at mayors Miami last night. . . all SS models were at 0% discount. . . TT would have a slight discount. . and YG/RG would have an average of 15% discount. . .

the following week I went to the Rolex boutique and took home a 116518LN . . at first they were tight on the price since its a fairly new watch and demand has been increasingly high. . I was able to negotiate $3,000 off the watch. mayors did not budge on this model due to demand.

I live in the Miami / Ft Lauderdale area and have been to several of the local Mayors. I can vouch for the others who have commented about no discounts, except for maybe on some of the precious metal pieces.

Call Blue Marlin, they had one not long ago. Also call Luxury Swiss(boutique in Wynwood). The owner at Blue Marlin is very by the book but super cool guy.

I'm living up in NYC now, and through a series of very fortunate events happened to get my hands on one that came in to the AD this past Monday I had it shipped down to Miami as I'll be down there in a couple of weeks, hope to post pics/story as soon as I get my post count up!

I'm always excited to head back down south. This time the wait just might kill me.

Remember Mayors was recently bought by a larger corporation (UK), so new policies will be in place.

Go to Islamorada one day and check Rolandos shop(Blue Marlin) out. Single shop Mom n pop owner has a nice selection in his cases. No discounts and removes stickers before you walk out. I’m all good with it.

My thoughts exactly. In the current climate of Rolex non-availability, I am amazed at the number of posters who are still expecting a discount. Heck, just finding the watch is a victory these days.

OP, you had a chance to buy the watch and walked away because they wouldn't discount...on the hope that the exact same store in a different location would deliver a discount?

And...weren't the terms of the sale disclosed when you put down your deposit?

If you like the watch buy it! Discount on a Stainless Steel?

Personally I have been a Mayors client for over 12 years, excellent service, and great communication. Also great customer service after the sale (good luck finding that with a grey market dealer).

Shipping out of state has nothing to do with not discounting. The dealer doesn’t keep the sales tax. What the heck does it matter to them where you want your watch shipped.

This exactly. I can understand not shipping out of state unless the transaction is done in the store. Otherwise, what the heck do they care!?

Company policy? Rules are getting stricter on sports model watches. You gotta pay to play.
