Visiting Los Angeles soon...
Hello again all!
I will be visiting Los Angeles California soon, and am wondering if there is anything watch related that you guys and gals would recommend as a place to visit? Anything in LA, or generally close to LA is viable I just want to see if I can make a few stops at watch places, and see and learn something new It doesn't have to be Rolex, and a place where they sell used or vintage watches would be interesting too. I guess I could sit and google things, but with so many experts on here, I want to hear your input! Many thanks in advance |

I would visit the Frank Gehry designed building. I have always wanted to see it in person, it looks like a building from the future.

Craft and tailored is in downtown LA, I haven’t been there though.
My AD is Polachecks in calabasas, about 25 miles northwest of downtown. |

For vintage, check out Wanna Buy a Watch on Melrose Ave in West Hollywood. Priced on the higher side so they're better for browsing.
Th Rolex AD in Beverly Hills always has a pretty extensive selection. Pro tip: they have the main AD on Rodeo Drive and then on the other side of the building in Geary's they have another showcase of Rolex's. A block away also has a vintage shop but the name escapes me right now. |

I’m going to have a 48 hour stop over in LA in 2 weeks.
My list includes the Peterson museum, which has an extraordinary Porsche exhibit on until June. I will also re-watch Anthony Bordain’s Layover episode on LA (Netflix) and see how many stops I can recreate. If you come up with something watch related and unique in this thread I may work that in too. Enjoy LA - cool city Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

The only Grand Seiko Boutique in the US is on Rodeo in Beverly Hills. They are also near some other Boutiques like Audemars Piguet and Breguet.

I second WannaBuyAWatch. Great vintage selection, I saw a Tiffany dial sub a few weeks ago there. I believe Bob's Watches is located near by close to Huntington Beach. I bought my 16610LV from them a few weeks ago.

I always enjoy browsing the Jewelry District @ 6th & Hill in Downtown for (mostly) pre-loved watches by the many small independent shops there....more like a treasure hunt since you never know what you may find. Ranges from LNIB to vintage...If you are a buyer marked prices tend to be on the high side but sellers are negotiable.....YMMV

Just there a few weeks ago. Rodeo Drive area has all of the brand boutiques (Geary's Rolex had slim inventory and told me only their best customers get anything) to browse through. Also several multi-line watch stores including a Westime location. I also had a pleasant visit at the vintage shop mentioned on Canon?
As mentioned, South Coast mall also has the full range of brand boutiques an hour or so south of LA proper. |

The savvy buyer would only browse in LA.
Modern watches will be at full retail. Vintage will be overvalued and more than likely overgraded. Big cities are just lousy places to buy. |

Just remember that Rodeo is pronounced just the same as the cowboy and bull riding events. Don't be fooled and stick to your guns with the pronunciation.
