I had both at the same time. the sub is a more "usable" watch I think and to go to a new one from first gen YMII would probably be an ok move

Yes, the WG YMII is one of the ugliest Rolex I’ve seen much like the original platinum dial YM 1. I think I saw it the first time when Federer lifted the trophy at Roland Garros. While I’m not a fan of the YM2 it looks better in YG. The gold Sub otoh is a much nicer looking watch and a timeless classic. Do it!!!
