Donated my shoulder to save my Exp II

Da^n! I was walking on asphalt in a light rain and stepped in a puddle of transmission fluid. I was flying before I knew it and destined for a hard horizontal landing. But I had the presence of mind to curl my arm up and take the hit on my shoulder, thus saving my Exp II from impact. Two hours later I’m still sure it was the right decision, but my 58 year old body doesn’t take the hits like it used to. Ice pack day....

I’m sure I would have done the same...and suffered the consequences. But it would have been worth it.
Glad you’re okay.

1. Ortho 1st consult including X-rays $700
2. MRI $3000
3. Rotator Cuff Repair, Subacromial Decompression $32,000
4. Post Op Physical Therapy x 12 weeks $4000

If you have good health insurance, after co-payments and deductibles, you may come out ok.

Seriously, best wishes for a full recovery with ice and Advil only.

HAHAHA luckily wifey is an RN at the hospital three blocks from our house. So GREAT insurance through her. But so far ice and Advil (and bourbon) have kept me happy.

You have two shoulders but only one Explorer II.

That's an easy decision!

Well controlled pain management I see.

Your tactic probably did more than save some Rolex scratches, think of a sprained or broken wrist as a likely outcome otherwise.
