PAM590 or Speedy Tuesday (ST)
Just wanted to get some feedback and thoughts from the Paneristis on whether to add PAM590 or Speedy at MSRP (both watches about same price) to current collection (pic). Would that be too many chronos or too many Omegas? Save up for another Rolex (new Basel release) or go down different path of Panerai?

Panerai makes more sense in that scenario but I would use that money and add it to the sale of one of your omegas and get an AP Diver. That will give you the wrist presence as the Panerai but you are adding an AP instead.
But if those are your only 2 options then I’ll go Panerai. It’s a fun watch , value retention is not that great but you can buy with a very good discount or buy it Pre-Own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Given that watch box, without question the 590.

i'm not a huge AP fan :( Panerai is cool, but like you said you get killed buying at retail. other possibilities would be the Patek 5167 steel and/or FPJourne Chronometre Bleu.... but those two are 3x to 3.5x in price.. yeah... i see what you mean but of course... ;-) |

I think you need to figure out what do you want to get out of this watch, because your watches options are all over the place. That’s why I suggested the AP Diver , thinking you want some wrist presence and keep some value retention. Panerai is a cool inexpensive way to do it, so that might be the way to go for you. 5167 and CB are great choices but totally different choices. Those two are on the versatile category “ they can be dress up or dress down” but not wrist presence like Panerai. So figure that one first bro Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

i think that long term is (and would be quite different than my current collection - certainly more dressier and i'd be entering realm of high horology?):
Short term is:
I was gearing up for the PAM590 but wanted to wait for Basel to see what interesting offerings there'd be from Rolex, PP, and Omega....but out of blue the Speedy Tuesday popped up at MSRP. i guess I need to figure out whether to forgo short term watches and just go for long term |

Short term watches you lose more money , but whatever it works. If you can go long term the better off you would be money wise. But sometimes you have to pull the trigger on lots of the short term just for the fun. buy that Panerai and experience it , that’s the only way Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tough tough call. Whichever one you pick, you‘ll miss the other one. Like the PAM a lot, but I‘ll still say Speedy.

Panerai gives you a wearing experience unlike any other. They are so different from everything else, it definitely remains “special” despite it being probably the least expensive watch in your box.

You have too many chronos, but get the ST :)
I would want to say "get the PAM', but 590 wouldn't be my choice. And seems like you have a "thing" with Speedy, so might as well indulge.

Just my personal preference. The lume shot of 590 seems to be missing "something" at 3 o'clock.
For a P5000 8-day movement, I prefer a display case back. I do own a 000 and I have no problem with the solid case back. Just that I see 590 as a higher level PAM, and would prefer to "see the movement". For some reason 390 is a limited edition, but 590 is not. Though my impress is that 590 is the 8-day version of 390. My preference is the older ETA movement PAM (000, 111, 112, 113, 114, etc) But I also like the newer 562 and 564 titanium. I think they are well executed. I wouldn't mind the newer white dial (561, etc) either, because I think they improved the lume on them. Let me clarify, there is nothing "wrong" with 590. Only personal preference. :)

Get the PAM.....I recently purchased the 512.....and am thrilled with it! The 560 & 590 were the other 2 in consideration. I really like the dial layout of the 590.

PAM 590 based on your collection. It will give you a completely different wearing experience from your current line up: wrist presence, strap changes, case design, etc. You also own a better Speedy imo (ck2998).
