Is it difficult to obtain an AP 15400 or 15202 (Jumbo) from an AD?
As a multiple Rolex owner, I am aware that certain Rolex models are very difficult to obtain. If I want to buy a Royal Oak from an AD with whom I have a good relationship, are they readily available?

15202 is a very hard watch to buy.
15400 much less so, especially the dials other than the blue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The 15202 is the Daytona C of AP.
I know someone will be offended by that.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I get the reference and I am not offended. I am on an imaginary Daytona C waiting list.
Thanks for the info! |

Black and white should be buyable in the US, not so easy in other places.

I ordered a 15202, I will get it in October, that’s not too bad, and no where near the waiting time for a Daytona .

Last I heard (4 months ago), It was impossible for most ADs to get a 15202ST. It isnt officially a boutique piece but they are limiting the supply and only shipping to Boutiques was my impression.

15400 should not be difficult. Most boutique stock one or two, or at worst, just wait a few weeks for them to bring in. The blue dial will be more difficult. Jumbo has long wait list, as with all other difficult to get pieces. But again, one can always jump queue by buying some other pieces to boost your chances or simply knowing the correct people + luck, as I found out recently.

Region dependant really, here in the UK one could be had within a few months late last year, it’s now more like 7/8 months from what I’ve heard.
Also lists are dynamic, so your relationship with the AD will have some bearing on where you’ll be placed on the list and this can increase or decrease at anytime but if you have faith in the AD register your interest and wait for the call. Too many start to feel entitled about places on these lists, I really think they should just be a list of interested buyers with no one first or last it’s down to the AD/Brand to decide where and to whom the watch is allocated. But like above being a big buyer can help, but then so can being passionate about a brand, attending the events etc and just showing your love of this hobby can help you secure these pieces at the end of the day with the effects of social media is buyer are all embassadors for these brands and they know this. |

I don't know if this applies to Patek. I guess so if from AD. I hope to get mine "soon". Fingers crossed.... But I am not having my hopes high in case I get disappointed.

In some respects I think the passion for the brand is more important to the people controlling the supply. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Then AP is being highly inconsistent then? Anyway, I disagree with you about just having passion being a sufficient or even a strong criteria to be considered for hard to obtain pieces.

If you have an established relationship with any AD you would know how it works. VIP customers do not have to buy other models to get the ones they want. |

Equally relationships will make a difference and ultimately as a business AP aren't bound to sell a piece to any one and its their discretion who goes first. May not seem fair but it's the way it is in many commercial things. |

Ben I’ve witnessed this myself and not just with AP. The brands want these special watches to be worn and seen. The guy who shows that’s he’s extremely passionate is a safe bet that the watch isn’t just going to end up in a safe or in the hands of grey dealers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Remember you did reach out to me about the UK lounge and I gave you the best contact details, maybe you should try the UK route as it does appear they have a smaller market and much more client value based.

In Canada we only have 2 AP AD, no boutiques. Both AD are unable to order 15202st and 15400/15450st blue. Ridiculous really.

I don’t have trouble sourcing on either coast for 15400, just the blue 15400 and 15202 is out years.

A little off topic, also interested in 15400, does this look too big on me? Wrist size is a little below 6.5"
