Do you anticipate Black Bay prices to drop when the 39mm comes out?

I've been eyeing out a NIB ( on grey market ) Black Bay 41mm.

I almost grabbed a NIB for $2,400. But someone beat me to it.

It sounds like a lot of people are really excited for the 39mm to come out.

Do you think the prices on grey market will come down on the 41mm when the 39mm comes out?

I don't see it happening. Many like the larger BBs especially with the old Eta movements in them.

I plan to pursue the 39. I love the BB but the current 41 is like wearing a brick on your wrist.

I don't think the new 39mm will have any effect on the price of their larger brothers. Black Bays are already sold at a significant discount in the grey market. Plus, while alot of members here seem to appreciate smaller watches, I suspect the general public will find it too small so won't be a huge seller.

If I wanted a 39mm diver, with a 12mm thickness, and 20mm wide bracelet I'd get a Rolex Submariner. The 41mm size, thicker case, and wider bracelet is why I bought a Black Bay 41 to start with. So no, I see it as two different markets and I don't see one affecting the price of the other.

I'd buy the 39 mm over the 41 mm. The size is only 2 mm smaller but the thickness is the key!!

I think there will be pretty good demand for the 58, but I don’t see the 41mm price dropping much, if at all. It’s a pretty damn good value where it is. I don’t think the 58 changes that.
