2 options for 3 watch collection. Which would you choose?
Option 1:
Explorer II 16570 (beater) SubC 114060 (daily) Explorer I 214270 (mkII full lume) (dress / business casual) Option 2: Explorer II 16570 (beater) SubC 114060 (daily) BLNR (whatever) Do I get the BLNR and have 2 similar looking watches with rotating bezels, but have a better watch than the explorer I? Or do I get the 214270 and add more diversity to the collection, put some $ toward vacation with the wife. What would you guys do? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It appears the only difference is BLNR vs Exp 1. I would go for the BLNR option then

There is no "better" in your list. There is newer, older, more or fewer features, but no "better." Also, what's the difference between a "beater" and a daily? |

Let me rephrase. When I say “better” I mean more features. GMT hand, rotating bezel, date, etc. Beater means a watch I’ll be wearing while working / doing Reno’s / garden work etc. Daily is a watch I’d wear every day I’m not doing anything too invasive. Hope that clears everything up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd take the BLNR but get a LVc instead so you have more variance.

I find that my 214270 is both my elegant and beater watch. His brothers are 116710LN, 79220R, and Speedy Pro Hesalite. Speedy is also sometimes the "elegant beater."

option 2
but if you think about it each one of the watches you listed (Exp 1, Exp 2, BLNR, and SubC) can be beater, daily, or dress/casual |

Option 2. The PCL’s on the BLNR make the watch good for dressier occasions. A third option for you would be to get an Explorer 214270 as your “beater”, the BLNR for whatever/dress, and the SubC for everyday. I say this because you have the GMT function covered with the BLNR. With this same combo you could also wear the Explorer 214270 on a rubberB strap to use as a beater then swap out the unworn bracelet for formal occasions. The clasp and bracelet take most of the abuse when used as a beater. Finally, if you wanted to use the Explorer 214270 on the bracelet as a beater, you could put on a leather strap for formal occasions.

Actually not the easiest choice. I would actually suggest the Explorer option. Nice to have a smooth bezel option to compliment the two professional bezel options in your lineup.
I currently have a black Explorer II (beater), GMT Master II (daily) and planning to pick up an Air-King (dress/business casual). |

Agreed. All Rolexes are versatile and can fill all roles. I only loosely categorize mine. But I wear them all interchangeably at times.

Option 1 for versatility and variety.
The BLNR just looks like a Sub with a colored bezel. I never understood the big fad with the BLNR.

Id choose option 2 from your list. But would also consider just Exp 2 ans Sub then put way more toward vacation with your wife or anything else you have on the list.

Maybe you should consider adding a DJII or DJ41. Otherwise, I'd go with the BLNR.

Think I’m leaning toward the 214270! Use the extra $4,000 to take the wife somewhere nice or maybe put something on her wrist for a Change :P

Option 2 with the BLNR for sure. Option 1 is still great but for me personally there's no contest.
