How recognizable is the SS Daytona?

I just bought my first Rolex, a SS Daytona white dial!! I´m not a person who like too much attention around the fact that I´m wearing a ROLEX, but LOVE the fact that I´m wearing one of the finest and sturdiest chronos ever made (cal.4130). To you Daytona owners out there.... How often is it recognized as a Rolex, and by what kind of people? Other watch lovers or any person on the street? Do you ever feel you´re sending out an "uncomfortable signal" by wearing a recognizable watch (as opposed to Patek, JLC, AP, Lange etc.) that is worth more than most people can ever afford, or wish, to spend on a watch? Are there any situations where you take it off to avoid this?
