Icon14 Exciting week

Well my friends, after being on the road for almost 10 days, I am finally able to 'check in' with my favorite group and share with you one of my trips. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Ready?

Well. here we go. First, lets pre-check travel items....WatchTime magazine...passport...airline and hotel cards...and very important: credit card! Everything in place.

Let's start a great day with one meeting befor heading to the 'next location'. So I have to be on the road early in order to make the 1 hour ride...looks like I am right on time. 7:45am....

Ok. Meeting was perfect, now time to go to the airport. After checking in and going past security, I find that the plane is already there

...so flight will be on time, fantastic! Destination: Miami!!

Being December, Miami International was extremely busy. Not my preferred airport but it had the best connection for this trip. I do have some time before my next flight, so let's go to the VIP room......hmmm.....busy as well..

I wonder why everyone is on this side of the room? A HA!!! It is sunset at Miami International!

and one more shot.....

Beautiful, one of those moments that make you stop and just admire.....wow. Anyway, I have a second flight, let's see if everything is ok....Yes, on time. Destination: Tampa.

After a short flight (not even 1 hr), made it to Tampa International....this is a friendly airport, easy access!

By the time I pick up my car and make it to the hotel, it is already 7 pm....tomorrow will be a great day.

...ready for part 2?

Sun is shining, weather is perfect, let's see what to I have scheduled for today? AD visit! This should be a short drive from my hotel; and on my way I have to go past the stadium (Buccaneer's home!)

...and my GPS tells me I am right on track and just 5.6 miles away (10 min drive) from the Ad.....

Well, AD also carries Omega, and they have an impressive way of telling me I am on the right track..

So I made it to Avant Gold Jewelers. First things first: customer service is impressive, out of this world!

I had called in advance and spoke with the AD, who promised me a cup of my drink (hey guys/girls, this is 10:00 am so this would be Starbucks) which was ready when I arrive. Next request was also accommodated: talk about watches for some time, just about the new trends, new models and preferences. Fortunately for me, the AD is a WIS, (capital WIS!) so we spend over 2 hours (yes, 2 hours of their precious time just for me, THANK YOU) talking watches

They showed me the new styles they had in display; GMTIIc's, DD's, DJ's, EXPII's and I try on a Deep Sea.... WOOOOOOFFF. That is a huge timepiece and, as I try it on, I discover that....IT FEELS GREAT ON THE WRIST! I thought I would hate it, but now I find that it is not bad at all. Still not my cup of tea, but not bad.

So we sit in a private room where they bring the 'Rolex tool set'....

...which is to be used ONLY on Rolex products

and I find color coded screwdrivers and loctite!

WOW, what a set!

So now in for the great part of the deal. SANTA IS HERE! After a short wait, the AD brings in the new toy. No, I will not post the usual 'closed box, semi open box, open box with leather cover' shots; I will just share with you my new V series baby....and let pictures do the talking....

After strapping on my grail watch, and having one of the best purchasing experiences of my life, I am ready to go to my next stop: coffee with a good friend in Tampa, who also happens to be a WIS and regular here. It was fun to talk about watches and laugh about some posts; it was a mini GTG @ Tampa for a short time as we had other things to do later that afternoon.

We decided to change the mini GTG face pic with a mini GTG wrist shot.....so JJ, do you know who SHE is????

And finally a MUST: THANK YOU. Thank you for suggesting Avant Gold as a dealer; their service and attention is far from ordinary.

Thank you Avant Gold for helping me acquire my grail watch, for putting up with my pesky requests (sorry, I am a WIS), for spending time with me and for just making my dream come true.

and Thank You, WIS-friend for making my Tampa mini GTG my first one wearing my grail watch.
