ROLEX Yellow Gold DAY DATE President 18078 Bark Finish

Got this baby on ebay for $6,600.00

I sent this timepiece to the Rolex Service Center in Beverly Hills, CA to have the movement oiled, also the Date/Day dials were hanging at midnight till about 3am, so I figured a gear may be stripped. My personal jeweler said that I should repair it because if there were broken cogs in the timepiece; debris may fall into the movement and damage the timepiece.

The Rolex Service Center responded asking an additional $2,025.00 plus fees to fix the timepiece ($2,025.00 to replace the dial) because the jeweled dial was "not of Rolex manufacture".

Did I get ripped off?
