Pelican 1120 pelicase
Anyone experience with the Pelican cases? i bought one to store my watches, it seems fine but on top of the watches, the crystal there would be a small presure when the box is closed. Now i saw more people use this boxes as a watch storage, and for me it is extremely handy especially for travelling, anyone knows if the lil pressure on top matters?

Pelican cases are ^%&& AWESOME! Have hauled more things in more Pelican cases than i care, or dare, to try and remember. Slight pressure is fine, though if you want to be super ultra-careful then simply place a new / clean microfiber cloth atop the dials, then close case. This also ensures you have a clean surface touching the dial side.

I think he means lay a soft cloth on top of the watches and then close the case with the egg-shell foam in place. If you're going to go that far, then you should also have someone walk in front of you as you walk with the case and sprinkle rose pedals on your path. You can never be too careful with these delicate Rolexes!

Maybe put some battery-powered LEDS in there too so you can have this effect:

You did a great job cutting out those watch areas. Like you, I have a few cases with the perforated foam and my cutouts don’t look anywhere as neat. What’s the secret? :-) And for the record, I also don’t find the lid pressure to be of any concern. |

Oh gosh no, leave all foam there as it is now. The thin microfiber cloth covering just the dial side is fine and simply ensures a clean surface. You know, just in case any containments get trapped in the upper foam and all that.

I keep mine in a Pelican 1060. Just the perfect size for 3 watches and safe friendly.

I have the 1120 for my sub.
The 1170 for the other watches. Many others for items that aren’t discussed on the board. Great cases and can’t go wrong |

Check out Nalpak Group that make some sweet foam inserts for the Pelican 1120 and larger cases.

The submariner is rated for deep water diving, which causes an much more pressure than some foam, should be fine ... the explorer might not fair so well

I use the Pelican 1200 for transportation to the bank safety deposit box. I prefer to have the egg foam firmly pressed against the crystal so the watches will not move and bang around inside the case.

You can use a piece of foam pipe insulation to wrap the bracelets around. Better than pic-n-pluck which eventually all falls apart.
But you can also cover the pic-n-pluck with the fabric of your choice from the fabric store (leather?) and spray glue to keep everything together if it’s a daily box with high use. |

Thanks. It’s under disguise of a DeWalt sticker and some drywall dust so it looks like a power tool case. If you are worried about placing pressure on the watches, I guess you can store them sideways inside the case similar to how RSC ship with their foam box. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That's the point I was making ... in a facetious way. I'm sure the foam wont cause any scratches of concern either. Even the pelican box could go diving with the submariner & survive.
