Icon14 Proud New Owner- Explorer 2

Well I am now the proud owner of a brand new Rolex Explorer 2 white dial. After 6 months of thinking long and hard about weather I could afford one, and then which model to get, finally today came when I went into the shop and picked it up.

I don't think the Explorer 2 is the most popular model, the Submariners and GMT's seem to dominate, but I think it's pretty cool. The white face is quite striking, and it's not as chunky either.

There are only 2 authorised Rolex dealers in the whole of Western Australia, the one I bought it from, has only just opened and last night was the offical opening. The head of Rolex Australia flew in and gave a presentation and gave out cool Rolex giftbags.

There were many people there swaping their Rolex stories, including one guy who owned 14, and then bought another Rolex Daytona on the night for $14,000.

I have an Omega watch too, but can tell how much better a Rolex is. Although exspensive, they are worth it!

P.S. Does anyone know what model number Rolex is up to with the Explorer 2 (is it M?)

Great choice! The polar is beautiful.

My EXPII was an "M" back in the spring but would imagine that the new ones from the factory are now "V". With the economy, most in the stores would still be "M".

(I was buying white but went black when I was told the "bubble" could be removed. Love the unobstructed view of the black dial/white markers like with the SDD.)

Welcome to the Expy-lover's club. I have an M also; I don't know if any Explorers have yet been sighted with the new V-serial number.

If yours is an M, then it likely has the new 3186 movement.

Here's mine--I wear it ten times more often than my Sub and DJ combined.

Congrats on the Exp II. I really like the fact that it is not very popular outside of WISdom. I've worn mine twice this week
