Best of two worlds - but not yet

The answer is a SS SB Blue Submariner.

However, we're not there yet, so if you had to choose:

a) 16610LV with a black insert (you get the original green insert also)
b) 16618 with a blue sunburst dial (you get the heft of a full YG watch)

Personally I can't choose...

The LV, visually, is 'just' a 5 digit sub with larger hour markers, yes?

I much prefer the 6 digit LV dial, so never understood the appeal of 5 digit LV.

16618 is the answer for me.

Tough one but I’d have to go with the 16618 LB...

Definitely the 16618 for me without a second thought! The YG Sub with the blue dial and bezel has always been my grail watch since the 80's. Absolutely beautiful!

In 5 digits the blue, in 6 digits it is much closer.

Great pic. But I wouldn't take either. I don't care for any flavor Sub myslf. I much prefer a GMT. It does so much more.

If you already have at least one SS Rolex, I would recommend the 16618 with blue dial. PM is complementary to SS, IMHO.

I have dreamed of a YG submariner for 40 years. Even when I got myself a YG Day Date for few years, which I unfortunately had to sell (to rebuild the engine of one of my cars).

And I do not dream any longer ... I just admire it as I just bought one ...
