These pictures are fantastic! thanks for the post.

There's a decent Japanese language DVD that comes "free" with one of the watch magazines. It has a video of the assembly process with naration in Japanese. It's interesting to watch even if you don't understand what they're saying. I got one on ebay awhile ago. I think at the time it was the only one of the magazines that came with a DVD.

Guy who disassembled it is a Greek fella who has had a few diplomas in Switzerland in watchmaking and stuff and shares his work with us in a Rolex Greek forum! Excellent resource and excellent pics!

Answers some questions as to the cost of a service.

If you could buy one for only $500 but you had to assemble it yourself, would you go for it? Not exactly paint-by-numbers, is it?

Kinda makes the cost of a full service a little less painful, no?

Trust me i wouldnt

It does make the cost of service more meaningful if you take into consideration that they replace all the gaskets, disasseble, lubricate and reassemble the movemnt and lastly they have to repolish the watch. That's a lot of hard work

The photos come from the Greek watch lovers’ forum “Rolexakias.gr“ and are the hard work of Nikos, nick name "Wostep".

Nikos is Greek, 28 years old and happens to be a trained in Switzerland watchmaker, obtaining his training in the best school and on his own expense. He is currently continuing his family tradition, working in Athens Greece, with deep devotion to watches and a large heart to spend so much time to photo and post for our education / pleasure.

Though Nikos-Wostep has no objection really to share his knowledge and hard work with watch lovers the world over, this is anyway the reason for posting photos, he somehow feels upset and with a bitter taste in the mouth from the use of his work by a forum friend without first asking his permission, just for the ethics and the good order sake.
