Does anyone have this problem? Or is it me only?

Please, I would love your humble thoughts in this matter.

I find my self not really enjoying the watch I’m wearing because I feel like I should be wearing the one setting at home...

My point is this... every time I wear my watches, I feel like I’m cheating on the others and it sucks.

I talked to some one about this, and they told me that my only solution is to own only one watch at a time... And boy, that made since to me, although, I didn’t like hearing it.

Anyone else feels like this?

THANK YOU GUYS!

There’s a reason we do not have “What’s in your safe today” threads... Love the one that’s on your wrist and don’t worry about the others ... until, of course, you have to choose one to wear tomorrow. ;-)

My cycle is to make a SDB exchange every two weeks. I typically keep 2-3 pieces out of the safe at a time. This provides enough roatation during the cycle not to think about the others. IMO, owning one piece would constantly make me think about getting a second piece or swapping out, ymmv.

The best part of having a collection for me is... what am I wearing today.

I’m quite the opposite. I fall in love with the one on my wrist and I don’t really want to wear the others. I kinda have to force myself to switch out but once I get the other one on my wrist, it becomes my favorite.

You need to consolidate down to 2 good watches. It will solve all your problems and the sell off/trade will get you something nice. You could also just get a universal, like a DD40. But you’ll still need something for service time.

If I start worrying about the watches that I'm not wearing at any given time, then it is time to pick another watch.

That to me is the advantage of having many watches.

You wear one for as long as it's enjoyable and when it's time to change, there are many watches to choose from.

Because I have so many watches, some of my watches go for long stretches without their being worn, so when I put them on again, it's almost like getting a new watch.

There's also the option to change watches every single day or to even change more than once per day.

Choices, choices, choices.

Variety, variety, variety.

I'm very fortunate and grateful to be in such a situation.

I have become a one watch man except for those special occassions when I bring out my dad’s DJ.

As much as I think about adding another watch, I prefer not to have complications.

All I can say is, yesterday I had an incoming of a 5712. I'm already thinking of the next.

I need to stop.

Can’t say I’ve ever had that problem. If I feel like wearing something else I do just that.

Agreed

I wrote about this several weeks ago and I am still thinking of selling more pieces.

Life is short, too short to obsess over accumulating things. Especially things you rarely see or use. I would rather have two or three instead of the six I am at now.

It’s rather insane but I used to feel this way at times, so I started a rotation of 5 days so everyone gets a turn. I have a 5 days for about 10 of my watches and 3 days for my lesser ones.

If I’m not excited about what I’m wearing it stays in the rotation but if I ain’t feeling it next time as well, then I sell it.

Giving feelings to inanimate objects is pretty silly but it’s probably pretty common.
