New box and warranty question
Hello all, what year did the new style box come in with the pull down section inside and also what year did the 5 year warranty green seal come in? Is it also true that due to new lubricants that there is now a 10 year service interval?
Thanks Daniel |

First the 10 year service is not true, Rolex themselves do not set any specific service period, and they have never suggested a ten year period. This internet story came from a complete misreading of a Rolex statement. This is what it actually said that today the average Rolex owner have chosen around a ten year service interval before sending watches to be serviced. My own preference depending on how the watch is used just use common sense around every 5- 8 years. And lubricants used are the same as before the 5 year warranty. The 5-year warranty started with all watches sold from July 1, 2015 from authorized dealers. If you bought a Rolex purchase sometime during the last previous two years, say between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2015 Rolex extended the warranty a extra year. And IMHO the 5 year warranty is more marketing than anything as in general most will not have to use it.Unless you develop the {CCTS}constant checking time syndrome and your watch is running a couple seconds fast or slow and want to get it regulated.
