For owners of both 114060 and 14060, which did you keep?

The recent thread on 14060 vs 114060 got me thinking about those of us who have had the opportunity to have both. I thought I’d put it to a poll.

So, which did you keep?

I’ve owned both ( currently own the 114060 which I love) I’d keep the 114060. Most of TRF hems and haws about the lugs, bracelet as determining factors. NO Way for me. Those are very minor for me.

Why? To me, it’s all about the watch FACE/ dial. As I mentioned in the other thread, the 14060 is the most reflective Rolex I’ve ever owned. It is the model that glares the most due to the thin crystal and lack of A/R. More than other Rolex models. It looks faceless much of the time. I do agree that the 14060 has slightly better proportions but the HEART of the watch is the face. Of course, they are both great watches.

Not exactly the same... But I have an 114060 and a 79090... love them both and both are staying with me until the time I give the 114060 to my 2nd daughter when she's ready for it.

I am in the same boat. I took the weekend with my 14060 and left the 114060 in my office to see if I missed it.

I posted the 114060 for sale this morning.

I have both and I enjoy the bracelet and heft of the 114060 a bit more.

In the end the 14060M has a pedigree and level of comfort I didn't get with the 114060. That said 114060 is a more modern watch in terms of build quality - if you hold the two side by side you will say "man the 114060 is a better watch by a mile", however; on the wrist and after wearing - the 14060M is more comfortable and less "blingy" to me.

I'd rate the 114060 as a strong 9.2/10 for overall package and the 14060M as a 9/10.

Do what I did - find a late model Z serial or newer and have the best of both worlds. The random serial 14060M's have the same guts from what I've been told as the 114060's do.

Darn it. I thought I had decided and I pulled my 114060 out of its box just to look. Welp, it’s now on my wrist. This is a hard decision.

I’ve gone back and forth on this question since I put my 114060 back on my wrist earlier this week. I wore it for 2 days and decided I’d keep it. So I put the M on last night and immediately said, “no way I can sell this.” It’s just better for me. If only the bracelet had the glidelock... but I’m keeping the M. It’s perfect.

Put the glidelock clasp on your M. Or alternatively, get a 16610 and put a SubC bracelet on it.

I have had both but ended up just keeping the 114060. I wish I would have kept both.

Anyone else? Looks like the 114060 has it. But, for my money, the 14060M is where it’s at.

The more I study the new models the more things like the ceramic bezels, SEL’s, thicker cases etc bug me.

I think the lines on the pre ceramic, pre sel subs are much cleaner. Same with the GMT. I say your better off keeping the older watch. They aren’t ever making any more, however once the production catches up on the new version the prices will fall.

I was about to buy another Exp 2 42mm, and the more I look at it the more I just want to buy a 90’s GMT. I would rather a 1675 but that will be a purchase for later.

Sold my 2 liner for a newly purchased 6 digit model. I just prefer the beefier version & when I want to switch it up w a 5 digit classic on goes the GMT II.
