Iceblue Daytona 116506 dial in whitegold 116519 works...

After the dark blue one with white strap a new experiment for my 116519. Never was a fan of the brown bezel. Think this combo works pretty well with the OEM brown strap to compliment the brown tachy rings. Opinions ?

As long as that is an OEM dial then that does look good, and pretty unique. Think the brown strap is the right move too.

Not normally a Daytona fan but I must admit the dial and strap combo on this look amazing, especially with the solid end-link. Very nicely done.

Meh. Platinum and brown ceramic is much better IMO.

Iceblue Daytona 116506 dial in whitegold 116519 works...

Not for my taste, looks too much like a swatch watch.

Would you consider a darker shade on the strap (to better match the chocolate sub dials)

I think it looks fine but isn't that dial exclusive to the Platinum Daytona?

For me, I have a hard time changing anything from it’s stock condition, instead If I really like a particular dial, I would save for that particular watch...

Not for me. I prefer the Platinum Daytona setup for the blue dial.

The work is aftermarket I suppose, but the dial is not, it is genuine. I'd also put a chocolate strap on that rather than the lighter brown. I had the option on my AP Chrono and chose the darker brown, was classier.

At least you're not mimicking the platinum look. Enjoy it if you like it!

For my taste, I don't think the sub dial rings make sense without the bezel to match.

Just my two cents...

I think it needs a chocolate brown strap to match the sub-dials.

Now that I’d like to see!

How did you source the dial?

Having a friend at the RSC helps a lot.... Just like me he thinks that there are so much more dial/strap/metal combinations that could work. He loves these experiments as much as I do and as long as it fits is our only real limitation !
(Ok ok, maybe some financial limitations as well , he also had the baguette one for me available but roughly 4500K€ for just the dial was a little bit too much)

This was our previous creation, "The Daytona Beach MK2"

But back to the latest one. Actually we discussed many different brown straps, Rolex makes a LOT of brown versions for the 116519/116518 range.
Yes the darker ones matched the brown tachy rings better , but we both thought this tint of brown complimented the iceblue better.

I absolutely respect the fact that most users on this forum don't want anything on the wrist that's not an original Rolex design. I just like to wear the watch the way i like it best (using only real parts obviously !!)
With the design of the PT Daytona Rolex perhaps tried hundreds of variants, we will never know. We do know the final version they came up with probably was the one what they think looks best. I personally never have liked the brown bezel, have seen it in person many times. Before the PT Daytona was released Rolex most gorgeous dial colours (glacier) always was seen with metal coloured bezels, for a reason perhaps. On many different references.
Will do some experimenting with darker straps in the future for sure !
Other people suggested black Oysterflex for this combo but then I have to admit Oysterflex looks indeed better with ceramic bezels.

This photo says to me that this dial has to be experimented on a full metal watch, I.e. with the white gold bracelet as well as white gold bezel. You guys have to try that! I think it could definitely be a ceramic bezel bearer.

good on you for trying the creation by the way.

Nice combo.......you might need a little darker strap to make the brown sub dials pop!!!! The brown ceramic bezel on the Platona is just plain fugly!! Yours looks way better!!!

Using a dial that is exclusive to another model (even if it is an OEM dial on a real case) makes it look like a Fugazi at first glance.
