Fav 6-digit SS Rolex air/land/sea trio starting from scratch
Hi Everyone!
Not an advice post haha. Was wondering if you all had to start from scratch today, which current production SS rolex air/land/sea trio would you build? Here are the options: Air: GMT LN/BLNR/BLRO v SkyD blk/wht/blue v Exp 2 wht/blk Land: 116500 Daytona wht vs blk Sea: 114060 v 116610LN v 116610LV v SD43 v Deepsea blk/Dblue Starting from scratch, i’d probably go BLRO, black daytona, and subC LV. Reasons: SkyD too big for me. And i’ve always wanted a pepsi - jubilee or not haha. The polar explorer is nice but not crazy about the case size. For the Daytona, the white dial is a little too stark for me like a chess board almost - much pref the blk. And for the sea... i wish they made a blue sunburst SS sub lol, but the green will do. Black a little too comon for me. And w BLRO and Daytona i’d already have 2 blk dials. So a little bit more color is always welcome. Thoughts??? |

I go a little different like this -
1. Sky-dweller (Blue) - Air 2. Explorer (White) - Land 3. Sea-dweller (Black) - Sea All ends with "er" and all with different dial colors. What do you think? Sam

I never understood the land/air/water thing.....whatever people do to justify their collections I guess. It'd be 116500 in white, BLNR GMT, and the 116600 SD4K for me if we're talking 6 digits.

Starting all over I would buy only three and PM only;
Sub date 116619LB, casual for at sea. DayDate 118238, dinner parties on land. Sky dweller 326935, name says it all.

Land - I don't subscribe to the belief that land has to be a chrono, (and I've got a chrono anyway) so I'm going to go with an EXP 2 (black dial) Sea - SD43 (already own one)

Definitely fun to think about. I put the explorers in the air category but as many have posted, they fit nicely in the land category as well.
