Incoming!! Excited is an understatement.
I purchased the watch from another TRF member. I dont want to give it away yet since it would be easier to search and see what it was. He has been amazing and couldnt recommend him enough. I will, of course after the unveiling. Ive been eyeing this watch for exactly 10yrs. There were a few things holding me back from purchasing one until this year. Its a very technical watch. Possibly the most technical that Rolex makes. Tomorrow morning I should be a really happy guy!!

Since 10 years is the key, the original Deep sea was 2008... congratulations!!!
While I wouldn’t call it the most technical (I reserve that for the skydweller), I would agree it’s the most over engineered Watch Rolex makes.

Well, I tried to make a sneaky incoming post but I guess I wasnt creative enough....
The 126660 in all her beauty! For reference ive got an 8” flat wrist. Ive loved this watch since inception BUT for the life of me could not stand the tiny bracelet that was on the original. The tapering of the case and the wider bracelet makes this a much more substantial watch. For me, this is now a “perfect” watch. I ended up getting this from TRF member TBONESTEAK. I can’t recommend him enough. Beyond transparent and just an all around awesome guy. Very nice and Congrats. For some reason I thought you already had a Deep Sea. That’s why I was thinking YMII.

Yeah I guess “technical” wasnt the right word, but over engineered would have really given it away lol.
I was so excited I forgot to take a shot with the hang tags etc.... SO. With my wrist and the way it fits im going to get another full size link. I cant take the divers extension out all together and just reconnect because it will eliminate just about all of my adjustment or be to small. Currently it fits BUT the clasp is off center towards 6 o’clock a decent amount. Enough that I want to get another full link. If you look at the divers extension it’s attached to a half link. So im thinking I have a few options. I can remove the divers extension AND the half link and just replace with a normal full link OR I can replace the divers extension with a full link and keep the half link. This should help me center the clasp and still give me optimal glide lock adjustability. PSA. I will never be putting this over a wet suit. :) URL=http://s42.photobucket.com/user/crod45/media/E8CA1B2D-A68E-40A0-AF1C-A5C400107FC5_zpsv6gagze7.jpeg.html][/URL] |

Big congrats.
To get the right fit for me, I put the half link on the 6 side and added a link on the 12 side. 6 side = 4 and half link 12 side = 5 and the divers extension This means I took a total of just one link out. Clasp is perfectly centered and comfortable, but I'm one of those that never takes off the diving extension. This is my third Deepsea, and never had an issue and with such a top heavy watch I think it may even help offset the weight. ymmv |
