money
Since i am looking in this forum the question is raised more and more to me how people go on with there money... As some of you might know, i havent a job and i am 27 years old.. Now i have some savings, and i like Rolex watches but i am unsure how to spread my money towards different ''goals''
I Always thought money-in the saving account, but my money has grown quite a bit recent times and i do not know properly how much to keep before i buy myself a 3d Rolex, when i am ''safe'' enough on my bank account to aquire more watches… I don't have a own house, but i live in at my girlfriend(she payed her house off.) She has multiple holliday houses for private use around some country's so no renting. But offcourse she is my girlfriend and anything can happen... We are together for 10 years though. I counted myself that i need at least 18000dlr to have a decent furniture, but since i am an unemployed and i need to get extra subsidions when i have to live somewhere on my own i have to make sure that i havent more than 30000 in my saving account as for 2018. Otherwise no extra subsidion which basicly means you will eat your own capital… Now the option for me is not to get a job(i am crazymcmichael for a reason) But with 800 euro of savings a month things go fast upwards… Can anyone give a brief advice what he-she should do besides searching for a job?? Now the 30000 border isn't important at all as we have a good stable partnership |

What i basicly mean, how to stay wealthy when something happens. How much should my safety net be and how.. I do not like to argue on a bad manner in this topic, as i am not unemployed for no reason offcourse. There is absolutely no reason to think i do not want or like to work.

I like most everyone here will say get a job first then save from it to buy a Rolex and don't borrow off your girlfriend, but then I am not sure if you have a mental illness and are receiving benefits or subsidies, or if you are joking, but either way I think life priorities for you should not be buying a Rolex now.

plan for the worst. make sure the things you have are liquid, if you decide on a 3rd luxury timepiece. adage is, have enough savings to live for 6 months. but this is usually done while employed. only you can come up with a sweetspot of a number to where you're comfortable. some people need to have 10k in cash at hand to feel safe. others just need a few hundred tucked into a bible for a rainy day.
oh yeah, get a job |

Sounds like you’re in a fortunate scenario with your girlfriend. If you’re okay being financially dependent then no worries.
Personally since she’s a girlfriend and not a wife, I’d be saving much more than 30k and make plans to put at least 20% down on a flat of your own. This will require a job.

in the event you don't have a retirement plan (IRA, stocks, bonds, i.e. investments), you could have other liquid assets. gold hoarding comes to mind. inflation-resistant, and accumulated gold can help be a store of wealth for retirement. but should you need $$ in the interim, conversion to fiat is easier than say cashing in a retirement account. things like that.

Alternatively 30k is enough for a very nice ring and is the path of least resistance

My strategies are somewhat traditional and all involve the unpleasant aspect of a job so I really can't help you. It's worked for the past 40 years but has eaten into my leisure time.

Not sure I am even following this post but I will try to give my opinion.
If I had no bills whatsoever and was bringing in enough to where I could afford to save $800 a month after living expenses and had $30K in savings I would not see a problem buying another watch once it was saved on top of the $30K. I would think a $30K cushion would be enough to bounce back even if you ended up having to live on your own and pay rent in the future. Although this would require you to get income from somewhere as to not run out of savings quickly. |

I would invest in a fundamental English course.

I have a hard time understanding your text, but I am assuming English is not your first language or primary language so its fine.
However, like any posts before and posts which will follow after, having a stable income is a universal language. Without your own financial security, simply don't spend beyond your means. As your statement suggest your partner is your GF and not wife (and I don't believe common law applies the same across the world). If you don't have a career (vs. a job) or a stable roof over your head, and only have a minimal savings account you have a lot of things to think about before you buy your next Rolex. I know age is just a number as I fall under the "younger" category (be it a bit older than you). I don't say this often, but based on your content I think there may be a bit more maturity needed. There are numerous young individuals on the forums who are financially capable (self-sufficient) to spend on luxuries such as a watch. Don't drop your dreams or hobbies, but definitely secure a career first... maybe trade in your Rolex for that ring on her finger... |

I do not want to marry. Also i do not need her money, i don't even want it... It is my girlfriend, i am not with her for money. I learned to know her when i was 18 and i was the one working, but unfortunatly there happened quite a bit before 18 but also after 18, not real crazy but.. I'd really love to try to work again, but i am a bit a prisoner of the situation, i can't really explain it myself but yes.. I have over that 30k in my saving account, that is not a problem to… Maybe i can directly pay off a small house, but than offcourse there is no furniture no 800 in savings anymore and my girlfriend has allready a house so i really do not need it, and renting out will cost me my income

Why search for a job? Obviously you have resources. What do you love doing, and how can you make that a company that serves/benefits others?
