PAM 26K, like Brian said, pretty much spoken for and crazy high on the secondary market.

I just don't understand the hype. The dial is nothing special and it is just PVD'ed (a $600 process). I know, I know, "collectors".

If you want a black destro, PVD a 219 for minimal cost. You just don't get a second hand is all.

The 292 has the pig on the dial. The 292 is a ceramic Radiomir not a Luminor. Although a standard production piece only the 1000 units from the J series have the pig on the dial. The 1500 from the K series and those going forward do/will not.

The 26 is the SE PVD Destro Luminor Marina. The 26 is actually a "reissue" of a comparable model, again 26, in the A and B series. Mr. Bonati said the current version was released for the "collectors".

When he said collectors did he mean flippers that would get them and sell them for 40% over retail to collectors? Maybe he didn't mean that, but that sure is hell what happens most of the time.

What was I talking? Yes you are right! The 292 has the "PIG" but not the 26K. However the 26k has the same font as the 292.

That's exactly what it is, i'd hazard a guess that over half of them went to flippers, the funny thing is they get to the top of the queue because they buy all these models so have a good relationship with their AD, you just have to go over to paneristi to see the endless listings of 232s, 26s, 249s, etc, etc.

It's something that's starting to put me right off Panerai, i really want something like a 26, maybe a normal instead of destro, but i could have lived with the destro, unfortunately there is no chance i'll get one and i won't pay over the odds for a basic new watch like this, maybe Panerai need to release something like this with a small variant in bulk for the actual customers round the world who would have really wanted one.

The PIG is the mini submersible that the Italian Navy used during WW2 for underwater warfare.
