Never thought in a million years ...
Long time Rolex fan. Have had most every sports models in the line up. Plus Panerai, AP and Cartier. Not too happy with the latest scarcity BS from Rolex.
Was at local AD yesterday browsing. That's when I saw it. Immediately, it checked all the right boxes. Size, ceramic bezel, no cyclops date, great strap on a deployant, this watch was beautiful! Impluse buy, which I never do, but had to have it. So, researching it after the fact, I have a few questions... 1. When did this version of the Super Ocean Heritage Chronograph with ceramic bezel first appear? 2. I paid 15% off retail. I know I overpaid, just wondering by how much. 3. Is the movement strictly a modified Val 7750 or is it one of the Tudor based? 4. What can you tell me about accuracy and reliability? Would love to hear from some other owners. Thanks !!!! |

Congrats on the SOHC II! Looks great!
To answer some of your questions: 1) This version was released in 2017 2) Grey Market dealers have this one listed at 30% off, so you did well on pricing 3) Movement is a B13 so 7750 based 4) I have owned 5 Breitlings with the B13 movement (Currently still have 2) and have had no issues with reliability or accuracy. They are robust movements that any good watchmaker should be able to service should it need it. |

Great looking watch. Enjoy. I have owned a couple breitling in the past and still have a Navi in the collection. Never had a problem with their movements, and have found them very reliable and typically run just +4/5 sec per day. As for the deal, I found over the years if I’m happy with the watch, I’m happy with the deal.

Hardcore Rolex fan for over 2 decades and once I ventured into the Breitling brand, I was very pleased with the quality and toughness. Breitling has their own look and style I was glad I added one to my collection. The details of Breitling dials are finished impeccably. Rolex has a koolaid-centric mentality once you get past it you will discover a huge horological world every bit as interesting.
