It's economics you go in to get a subc
You realise they will never be one available so you buy a DJ instead....if you buy 4 you may be able to get on the list for a subc |

Also worth remembering just how many variations there are, size through to dials and bracelets. You’ll see a ton in an AD, but it’s not likely they have more than one of each and from experience usually not the exact one you want if you planned to see one in advance at all :) it’s far more of a “personal” watch than anything in the SS professional lineup in this regard.
Remember - we get so caught up on 1-3mm changes in case width, “over polishing” and fat/thin lugs, as my Mrs puts it we “seem to find ways to distinguish the indistinguishable” Imagine every large AD showcase was consistently “FULL” of SS models, row upon row (yes we’d all love it I know!) but just talking about to the general watch buyer, could they ever fathom having 40 of the same sub in the window looking back at them... It’s all so fun to imagine :) |

would be interesting to see if Rolex adjust the SS sports to have the same profit margin as the DJs and make the SSS their bread and butter while making DJs scarce and hard to come by.
what would happen then? will DJ prices all the sudden shoot up in grey markets? |
