Vintage Sub

Hey Guys,

I know these pictures are bad, but I’m trying to find out more about this sub. My friend has a couple subs and is trying to sell this one to me. I haven’t been able to get any info about it yet but wanted to see if y’all could provide some info on it. Any info is appreciated. Does it look real? Did a jubilee ever come on a sub? Value? Thanks!!

It looks very odd. What reference is it supposed to be? Serial number? Dial is very poorly refinished and it is just a mixmatch of parts. Nothing to buy unless it is extremely cheap and has a part or two you might need. Not really sure what that would be...

I’m pretty sure Subs never left the factory with Jubilee...

...the “ft” appears to be repainted(?). And the bezel insert is too new.

You’ll want better pics including engravings between the lugs, case back and movement for better input here.

No crown guard. 5508? Beside the dial n bracelets which had been commented on, we need better pictures to provide more details.

I blame it on autoconnect.

That kissing 4 Insert would bring a couple K alone.

For that very square 4? Hardly. It is a standard insert from the late 70’s.

x2 and the case could be worth something... Not sure how realistic finding a dial would be if you want to project it, bracelet wouldn't be too tough...

The coronet on that dial made me laugh!

In the first pic the 4 is not touching the 0, so it can’t be a kissing 4 insert. And yes the 4 looks too square also

I believe the coronet was painted on there by a 3 year old

This.
Just the angle, the insert is a late 70s/early 80s.

Not a kissing 4. That’s anything but. It is many many years off.
That’s a mk4 $500 insert.

Assuming that’s a real small crown case it should never have that insert and bezel on it. That dial is badly refinished. That bracelet never came on that watch.

I would avoid this watch, even if extremely “cheap”

good move. In general, if you're not 100% sure, just walk away. subs aren't that uncommon to be passing a 'suspectful' looking piece.

I'm not sure what reference this is supposed to be, but given the depth rating, it should be an early sub, (and apart from what others have advised) the case profile is certainly incorrect for that.
