What looks best on small wrist?
I got two weeks to decide on a new watch. Leaning toward sub nd but in the last few days I'm thinking gmt tt coke looks rather good too. I have a rather small wrist (only 6.5 inch) so which do you think would look better? I can see myself getting the sub nd now and waiting till basel 09 for the new coke? Your support is appreciated

Man, 6.5" is FINE for a 40mm sport. A lot of it is how "flat" your wrist is.
I have a 6.5" 40mm 42mm 45mm 40mm 44mm

Oh and if you are really worried about size, try on the Explorer II. It fits and looks very small even though it is a 40mm sport.

Err...small correction, my friend. The Exp-II is in actual fact 39 mm. I should know, I've measured it with a Vernier Caliper!!

Small Wrist
Hi
I have small wrist as well. I had a SS DJ and I traded it for the TTSub. I think both of them look great! The sub is larger, however it doesnt look out of proportion on my wrist. I would agree that some watches are to big for my wrist. I tried on the breitling super avenger and that was to big for my wrist(my opinion). I would get the Sub, I feel its the staple any good collection! I will post a pic of the watch on my wrist when I get home. Hope this was helpful. Tom |

Hi, I have about a 6 1/4 inch wrist and I bought a Datejust. I love this datejust so much, but its getting a beating bc I wear it everyday. The datejust looks perfect on my wrist. However, I too am looking to get a Sub for an everyday watch. I have tried it on before, it seems ok, but at the same time, a little too big. I then thought about a midsize Seamaster ... decisions, decisions, decisions |

Alan, you'll be fine. 5 years ago I thought a 40mm sub was too big b/c I was wearing a 35mm Fossil all the time. Just go buy a cheap 40mm watch and wear it for a week and you'll be craving the larger size.

My wrist is a little bigger than 6.5 - but not much. My 40mm Sub looks great - not to big. My 36mm DJ looks perfect. With your wrist size you should be fine with anything up to 40mm, which for the present means all Rolex models.

A great choice - the two classic and iconic Rolex models. No two watches epitomise Rolex better.

i have a 6.25 inch wrist and currently wear an AK. i can pull off a 40mm, but anything above that starts looking a little 'clownish' on me. i'm sure you could pull off a sub no prob. you seem like a 'rough and tumble' guy, have you considered an explorer instead of the DJ? also, when trying on watches, view them on your wrist from a mirror, this is how the watch actually appears; when you just look down at it while it's on your wrist it tends to look bigger to you than it is. my 2 pennies.

I have the same size wrists - the 14060m looks great I think. Not too big or small.

Don't worry about your wrist size. It's what you do with it that counts.

I'll second (or third, or fourth) the Explorer-II nomination. Absolutely killer watch, and doesn't look nearly as bulky as the Sub or GMT-II (due to the sloping, fixed bezel).

Here's a GMT C on my 6.75" wrist.
I went over the size/fit issue in my head too before I got the GMT. I concur that the Explorer II will wear a little smaller than the others, my brother in law had one for comparison. However, you honestly can't go wrong with any of your choices - 40mm isn't big by today's standards and even the supposedly beefier GMT C looks quite dainty compared to some of its peers. Go for the one you like best as I reckon they'll all look great on a slim wrist. |
