Grand Seiko x Nissan GT-R Ceramic GMT Chronograph

If you thought the Grand Seiko Ceramic GMT Chronographs were overpriced, check out the GT-R 50th anniversary edition that costs 20,000,000 Yen (about US$178K)! And no, that price does not include the car!

Even though it's in gold and can be customized, and only three will be made, I still don't get how they can justify close to 10x the price of a SBGC221/223. And this is coming from someone who owns the SBGC219.

Nevertheless, it's kinda cool to play around with the customization app on the website: https://www.grand-seiko.com/jp-ja/special/customorder/

Did GS just hired Richard Mille? The crazier the price the better.

I'd love a GTR and I'd love a GS but that is not the watch for me.

That would explain the pricing I suppose
But they only have to find three people who have hundreds of thousands of dollars to burn, so i'm sure they're probably already sold out.

If there is a worse company than Nissan for GS to let coattail them then let me know. I can't think of one even the mighty gtr can't cover for it just like the Evo couldnt increase Mitsubishi Prestige. It's like McIntosh taking up with bose or beats

Keep in mind this is likely a JDM product and the brand association may be perceived differently there. Also while I am no nissan junkie the GTR is a legend for a certain demographic worldwide. I am more concerned with why the people at nissan would want to hitch their car to such an ugly watch

I am not sure how mitsubishi is still in business lol
