16570 Explorer II with a 78790A bracelet
Ok so did some research and found that I have a 1995 Exp II T serial with a bracelet 93150 with 501b end links ! And found that the 78790A will fit, the case has the bottom notch ! But .
One problem I have found is the spring bars are making it fit sloppy ! I can see play and gaps between the case and sel of the 78790A bracelet! I am guessing the spring bars need to be replaced ? Not really sure ? Any suggestions would help, that gap is like looking at someone having a 22 mm strap on an 20 mm lug width! Just screams nightmare ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I am under the impression the 78790A is the newer bracelet with solid end links that came with the no-holes 16570 cases. It will obviously fit a 1995 holes case (which originally came with the 78790 bracelet, without "A" and without SEL), but I wonder if even slight differences in the lug width between the holes and no-holes cases could be responsible. I also think the 93150 was never an option for the 16570.
That being said, I cannot see any gap either! |

Use the right spring bars and it will fit just fine.
The Explorer II, like the GMT II, always provided the 93150 as an option. The extension allows it to be worn over a flight suit or climbing jacket so you can see the time without needing to use the other hand to push back sleeves.

What spring bars are in there now? The original 2.0mm/1.20mm spring bars from the 93150 should lock up tight with the 78790A SELs assuming the tips haven't worn considerably.

Do the 78790A SELs take 2 mm spring bars? If they only take the 1.8 (?) mm bars I guess the "tips" of the spring bars will be a bit too thin for the drilled lug holes.

The A indicates SEL ends, where a 78790 is for stamped ends.
