53. I have been an Omega fan forever, eschewing Rolex watches until the DSSD came out. I had admired one Rolex since 1984 but never acted on it because I was concerned a 40mm watch was too small for me. So I admired the BLRO from afar. Bought the DSSD, mostly because of the specs, and didn't like it. Put it aside for a couple years and finally traded it for the 16710 BLRO I had so coveted. My watch tastes had changed - I was no longer craving extreme wrist presence, instead going for something just a little more subdued. I went from a 45.5mm Omega Seamaster to the 40mm Rolex GMT Master II. Felt like coming home. :)

At 40 I bought an old Sub no date from a workmate who needed a few £ in a hurry.
It was at least second hand to him.

Four years later I part exchanged this against a new 16700 GMT which I've now had for 20 years.
(said the tight Yorkshireman!)
